It's pretty much that. I've watched it a few times and you want to argue that he got his hand up and pushed? Well, in response, I'd probably say that at ANY other part of the ice (or even 3 feet before where the hit took place) Chara is only getting two minutes.

Obviously, as a fan, I'd say there's no intent but, again, of course I would. Fact is, no one was in Chara's head when it happened. I agreed with the call on the ice, due to what resulted of the hit, and I would understand a suspension as well. 5-10 games, IMO, is pushing the deal but anything less I guess I wouldn't have a problem with. Fact is, it was a stupid hit that sent a player to the hospital. That's gonna get you, or should get you, some time off.

And, obviously, I understand that Habs fans are upset. Regardless of fandom, Bruins fans know better than any about players getting hurt. But, honestly, there are some people out there that are nuts. Someone compared this to the Moore/Bertuzzi incident. Which is BEYOND ridiculous. That shit needs to GTFO.

So, yes, as I've said before, the hit was INCREDIBLY stupid. But it wasn't malicious and certainly wasn't given by a player who has any history of dirty play.

Fine? Yes. Suspension? Probably. Intent to injure? No. 5-10 games? No. Comparable to Moore/Bertuzzi? You're insane.
