I created 53 man rosters, featuring guys from the 2007 and 2011 NFL Draft classes, and I wonder which team is considered stronger.
Also, it just happened to be that both of these drafts were followed by a Pats/Giants Super Bowl.

Bold indicates who I would start. For the 2011 team, I would move Pouncey to guard, and have Peterson play FS instead of CB, just due to a weakness at those positions. I also chose 3-4 defense as the base, due to the lack of big nose tackles for each team, but a hybrid defense would be run most likely.

Which of these teams, or should I say draft classes, has turned out to be the superior one?

2007 for now. Little too early to decide on 2011 imo

Cam Newton throwing to AJ Green and Julio is better than Kolb throwing to CJ and Bowe
2011 RB class kinda blows however

Danny Watkins is starting for the 2011 team, wtf. That is a rough set of Guards.

Yeah, that's why it's hard

2007 OL is a fucking gem. Lynch and AP have great blockers ahead of them. 2011 has to move a C to play guard because their line is so mediocre. But Cam/Kaep have all the passing targets in the world

07 has great ILBs, but their pass rush is only decent. 11 has a ridiculous pass rush, where in a nascar package, you can have Aldon, Watt, Wilkerson, and Quinn on the line, with Von at SLB too.

11 has ideally 2 of the best 3 CBs currently in the NFL, with PP and Sherman. But because their safety situation is so bad, Peterson has to move to FS, and Prince starts at CB instead. But for 07, you have Revis still, a very good Leon Hall, the best S in the league imo in Weddle, and the choice between Pro Bowlers of Goldson and Landry. The 07 secondary is far better

It all comes down to the QBs for me though, which is why 2011 takes it. You have two guys who might end up being backups come Wk1 as your QBs, versus 2 QBs who will probably be Top 10 Fantasy Football QBs

Marcus Gilchrist and Aaron Williams are both worth mentioning for 2011, IMO.
