I bet the Rays have lost millions and millions of dollars on gate revenue because that stadium is in St. Petersburg. Then again, maybe not. I spent a year in Tampa recently and it seemed like half of the population were holding homeless signs on sidewalks.
So he says a group of quarterbacks that includes a guy who looks like he might be a legend and two other guys who haven't proven anything.
Then you respond with a group of quarterbacks that includes one guy who started to look pretty solid last season and two other guys who haven't proven...
The good thing about preseason games:
Lions used a draft pick on a kicker. Nate Freese. He missed an extra point early in the game. They sent him back out for a 56 yarder going into the half. He killed it. Still seemed pissed off about the missed PAT. Kinks that are good to work out...
If I were an NFL coach in the preseason, I think I would go for it on 4th down every single time. I think all of the decisions on your punter, kicker, and coverage units can be made pretty easily in practice. I'd like to see how the offensive unit players handle do or die 4th downs, see more...
Here's a blog post by a pretty good local blogger that encompasses the late Tigers' woes: http://detroitsportsrag.net/tigers-fans-are-not-spoiled-ya-pederast-looking-dope/#more-3496
But regarding the discussion about Nathan, a chunk of the blog post pretty finely sums up what has been...
As I think about this more, I'm surprised that the players themselves wouldn't prefer Hoyer more than the fans, media and coaching staff do. I can't imagine snorting coke and being late to meetings is endearing to some eight year veteran lineman.
Crazy. Here's to hoping E.J. Manuel can develop and become good. The Bills team being competitive in that division would be good for football, I think.
Seems like the production of a perfect situation to have him totally bust through at the end of the preseason and give the fans a William Wallace type hero in week 1, doesn't it?
I don't think its that. I think they are trying to manifest a situation where they want Johnny to rise to an occasion and take something. Believe me, the front office of that franchise prays every night that Manziel is the week one starter.
Yeah, that was just so bad.
Nice work by Joe Nathan to make himself the most hated Tiger in recent history, surpassing Prince Fielder. Three million through the gates every season, the TV station has the #1 ratings when the Tigers are on, the radio channel has the #1 ratings when the Tigers...
As I think about it, you are right. People quickly assume that L.A. needs a team because of the city's population and size.
I was trying to make more of a point that Tampa and Jacksonville don't deserve teams than I was that L.A. deserves one.
Maybe Toronto is the city that most deserves...
