Over Rivers? Hell no. Ryan? Maybe.
The thing is Ryan and Stafford each have an elite weapon to turn to. Rivers really doesn't. I'm not saying Jackson and Gates are average but they're no White or Johnson.
That would still leave us with a solid rotation. Hellickson, Shields, Moore, Niemann and Davis can still win frequently. Possibly, Zobrist, Price and Tim Beckham/Hak Ju Lee. That's a solid replacement for Jeter, another ace and a strong utility player.
That's a fucking deal to me. Now, again...
I wouldn't give up Shields, Hellickson or Moore. Price and Davis/Niemann on the other hand ... I know they would never do it and it will never happen; however, we have a plethora of pitching and could use a guy like Cano. Maybe throw in Zobrist instead of Davis/Jeff.
