The collision between Yoan Moncada and Willy Garcia yesterday was scary. I'm just glad Moncada's knee was bent. Had it been straight, he would likely have torn his ACL and been out for a long time. Garcia will likely have to pass all the concussion tests before he can play again. I don't...
For those interested in following the young kids that teams sign:

These kids are, in many cases, very raw and will not make an impact on the major league team for at least 4 years...
Watch where Torres is on next spring's list. That will be more reasonable. His arm is one of his main assets, although the rest of his scouting report is pretty good as well.

Rutherford was the key player for the Sox in this deal. They have improved their overall team a lot this month. They have moved some major league assets for some talent to rebuild their minor league system.
Just for the record, Dozier's dWar (from baseball reference) is 3.8 over his career...
I just know what I see with my own eyes (do you actually watch the game or just read stats from one site?). Garcia is one of the worst all-time fielders in right. He's why Adam Eaton was playing out of position last year for the Sox. At one time, I was a better fielder than Garcia.

The Nationals picked up a couple of bullpen arms from the A's. Sean Doolittle and Ryan Madson go to Washington for Blake Treinen, Jesus Luzardo (#15 prospect -- lefty starter) and 3B Sheldon Neuse (#17 prospect). Not a lot of cost for what could fix their entire team.
This coming from the guy that says that Dozier is a below average fielder.......
I use my eyes, not some nebulous statistics. Garcia is one of the worst fielders I have ever seen in the outfield. Happ would have been an upgrade. Jimenez, though not nearly ready for the majors, would be a...
Mad Dog just said that the Sox should have held out for Ian Happ. He's far better than Jimenez. They might not have gotten the pitching prospect, but they would have improved their outfield defense immediately. I concur.
