I've been fearing this since the end of his rookie year and I used to cringe at thinking about the day he'd bolt for free agency. I am at a point now where I'm pretty torn & it's going to take this season for me to come to an ultimatum. The Vikings were a phenomenal passing team last season...
Really sad about this, Bob Sheppard is such a huge part of Yankee history. He's been ill since 2007 but it's kinda weird to think that he's definitely not going to be calling those games ever again.
Rest in Peace Bob.
Flyers stick with goaltending formula, sign Michael Leighton to two-year, $3.1 M deal
Michael Leighton and Brian Boucher will be the Philadelphia Flyers' goaltending duo for the 2010-11 season. Nick Kypreos just reported that Leighton signed a two-year, $3.1 million contract with the team. With...
Sad day for both Modano & the Stars, I find it hard to picture one without the other. This is going to be one of those strange sights, Modano wearing the uniform of another team. Something similar to Sundin in a Nucks uni last year. In any event, the Stars had to make this move in order to get...

Totally agree with Gene on his winners and losers of this draft. Speaking of winners, the Anaheim Ducks win the best draft night of the NHL. Just when this team is finally spent, aged, in need of rejuvenation...they go out and land 3 HUGE players in the draft. Each player taken is a huge draw...
Caught off guard by this news but then again, not really. I've always pegged Jardine "overrated" and living off a KO-win over washed up Liddell. Jardine being a Jackson fighter and part of the UFC's "in crowd" is why I am surprised he was cut. What I love about the UFC though...doesn't matter...
So the Flyers ultimately gave up Parent for a late 3rd...nice.
Pittsburgh will sink their remaining cap into Hammy and Gonchar will hit the open market.

LOL, totally forgot about this guy. You know what I love about Met fans; they are just as hard-headed and so far away from reality as Knicks' fans. Of all Met fans polled before the start of the season, it was almost unanimous that Matthews was a "solid addition" for the them and all he needed...
This is what I love about independent baseball; the wacky promotions.
The Lake Erie Crushers, a Frontier League team out of Avon, Ohio, will be hosting a June 30th promotion: "Keep Lebron in the C-L-E Night". The team will all wear #6 Cavs-themed jerseys and their stadium will be renamed...
