It's one thing to not rape a cornered GM after his player has all but expressed a desire to play in only one other place. It's another to completely pay market value for a player you were probably going to get.
Just saw this and was about to post it. Gotta get Miggy some help, shouldn't be fucking with his career like this. Tell him to go talk to Josh Hamilton.
He's not going to hit 54 again but I don't see how he can't hit 30 pretty consistently. I was watching something during the season last year that was evaluating his batting approach (last year vs years prior) and you could see the difference and how he was hitting for more power.
That said...
I came up with the probably 9 before McKenzie and we had pretty much the same list. Surprised to see Jovanovski on his list. I'd swap him with Yandle and add Seabrook and Regehr. The former two being more "pipe-dream" types.
And, if that's the case, I don't want any part of Regehr or Phillips.
Personally hope this game shut up some of the media. From what I saw last night, this team wasn't missing a guy like Kaberle. It was missing speed and some fucking heart.
After dropping two brutal games to Detroit you go and drop a stinker, AT HOME, to the Leafs? The 5th worst team in the...
Brui?
I like Kelly but I tried to ask one of the media guys if any previous trades (coughBurkecough) skewed the market. Don't think Kelly's worth a 2nd.
There's no problem. I'm just saying that it was a factor before and there's no reason it wouldn't be a factor again. Just because he did end up liking it in New York doesn't mean he completely threw away the idea of playing closer to home and his family.

just as the money brought him to the Yanks, if the money's calling he'll move elsewhere.
Sure he wouldn't want to uproot his kids but you think that if he had a chance to be on the west coast, with his family, and play in the NL AND still get paid handsomely, he wouldn't consider it?
No concrete evidence but some Bruins bloggers saying a deal may be coming. One of them mentioned Kaberle or maybe Corvo. I hope it's not either honestly.
If they're gonna try for Kaberle, I'd rather just get Pitkanen instead. The only difference in price maybe a current defender. But he's...
