Then Smashville could flip Josi for offensive help.

With Rask and Bergeron likely getting extensions, they probably want a little more cap flexibility. I get letting Horton walk, but I'd be questioning the Seguin move if it happens. They don't score as it is. Besides, I don't think there a need to really panic. The cap will go back up next year...

Think people are overreacting a bit to the decreased salary cap. Everyone will panic to get room, and then probably spent to it anyway.

Apparently the Bruins have Seguin's name in play on the trade market. I'd be pissed, but I'd like to see what trades are being discussed.

    Pierce, KG to Brooklyn?

Right move or not, it's going to be sickening to see PP in a Nets jersey.

God it would be hilarious to see Holmgren make that move

Barring some offensive renaissance, would Phaneuf even get much of a raise?

Yeah, I was actually going to counter whoever you said w/Lecavalier because you won't have to commit long term (forget what he says) or give up assets. They have the cap space.

He would be a good 2nd/3rd liner but he's never been consistent enough. As for Gardiner, who do you consider an available "#1" center?

PIT Re-Sign [LW] Chris Kunitz to 3-Year/$11.55M Extension; $3.85M AAV

Kunitz is a product of his Crosby/Malkin. Good deal for Pitt but anyone else would have probably regretted it.

Players you expect to be on new teams next season

Bringing an emotionally erratic, high priced goaltender to Philly seems like a good idea

I think using Phaneuf as a scapegoat is just as bad as doing it to Reimer. Phaneuf was never worth his contract, but he's no scrub defender. He needs a better defenseman to cover his mistakes. Franson was/is not that guy.

    Stupid Dave Nonis

Those assets prob would not have filled your true needs, but, yeah, this doesn't make much sense right now.

Flyers to Buy Out [F] Danny Briere

Depending on his price, I'm sure most teams would be interested in giving Briere a shot.

    Buchholz to the DL?

They have the arms to step in for the time being. Just gotta hope it isn't anything serious.

    Definitely won't be worth 5.75M

Your top ten goalies heading into next season (pretty much a goalie write up for next season)

My only problem is Markstrom. He's is only 23 and has yet to have a full season as #1. A bit early to be questioning whether he can "put it together".

My money is on Vanek staying in Buffalo or going to Minnesota.

Bergeron/Bruins are in talks about an 8yr extension.
