Luckily I'm a born and bred North Dakotan, so while the Vikings are my #1 team, I am by nature invested in Wentz's development, and he appears to be on the rise. I generally like all NFL football, too, so there's plenty to watch, but it's about to get very difficult to watch the Vikings.
Vikings fear that Cook tore his ACL. This sucks. I don't understand why any fan gets invested in football any more. I love watching this defense but I think I'll try to move my highest level of interest to the Wild.
It's really disheartening to see this team lose mostly due to their own carelessness. I would rather see them play as well as they can with a backup QB but lose to a better team. But that's not what happened. How many fuck ups can one team have at home?
Quick note: the momentum in this Vikings game swung after an incredibly stupid play call by Pat Shurmur. A random wildcat play all the way into the 3rd quarter results in a fumble due to a ball handling miscue. Just dumb.
Are the Jets....not terrible?
Also, if we were to watch back the OL play in this Vikings game, we'd find 5-10 uncalled, egregious holding penalties on this Lions OL. And Stafford has been sacked 7 times
I love Vinovich's crew but there were two obvious PI calls missed on Minnesta's last drive, and now Stafford loses the ball backwards, which should negate calling it an incomplete pass. That had to be a fumble.
I will gladly take those missed PIs with Vinovich's crews if all officiating crews...
The NFL needs to give out an unprecedented suspension to Danny Trevathan. I'm talking 6 games or more. That is the most egregious intentional helmet to helmet hit we have seen in years. I never would have expected that of him. That hit made every single Vontaze Burfict hit look tame. Not since...
Adam Thielen, WR. Height, 4.4 speed, great routes, and great hands. This guy has become our prototypical #1 Receiver.
Jerick McKinnon, RB. At some point this guy will break out when used properly, but I doubt it'll be with the Vikings
Everson Griffin, DE. People know he's good. They don't...
I really only saw the last Lions drive. I don't like the rule, but also agree with the idea of not just awarding a team another play they wouldn't have had due to a review taking place.
Personally I think the Lions should have tried a sneak or a run with Zenner/Washington (was Washington...
Xavier Rhodes is the best CB in football. Against Rhodes, Michael Thomas, Antonio Brown, and Mike Evans have been held under 100 yards combined, and as a whole, none of these receivers have reached 70 yards against the Vikings defense. Rhodes had shadowed all 3 for the majority of each game...
Xavier Rhodes is fucking awesome
Also, Tony Romo just threw a shot at Dez in the Packers/Bengals broadcast. "Guys like to stretch the ball out to try get in the endzone. We're always telling them, 'you don't have to score on this play. The ball is the most important thing.'"
They just correctly rescinded a targeting call in the A&M/Arkansas game. Intent must matter with these calls. Kudos to that officiating crew in that game
I can't believe why Pugh from FSU got ejected. Fucking ridiculous to call something so clearly unintended "targeting."
I'd say safety rules work but not applying them correctly certainly hurts the pro game and affects outcome. If FSU loses, there's proof it hurts the college game too
