Going back to this convo, it's funny looking back to that 2011 thread, most of us were on Kaep as a 1st rounder, unlike the NFL. Granted he still went at 36, but a couple of us had him as the #1 QB.
Mett could be this year's Kaep.
EDIT
We even shorten their names to the first four letters...
So what?
If you aren't getting a starter in the 3rd round anyways, why not try to get a higher pick out of flipping the player? It's a high reward low risk chance.
What's the harm in trying to build for the future?
As of 2012:
Since 1999
442 total players have been drafted in the 3rd round.
55 have started 3 seasons of more.
29 have started 5 seasons of more.
10 have started 7 seasons or more.
The odds of any pick working out isn't great. Why not...
Green Bay Packers @ Seattle Seahawks
Jacksonville Jaguars @ Philadelphia Eagles
Cleveland Browns @ Pittsburgh Steelers
Minnesota Vikings @ St. Louis Rams
New England Patriots @ Miami Dolphins
Oakland Raiders @ New York Jets
Tennessee Titans @ Kansas City Chiefs
Cincinnati Bengals @ Baltimore...
Sankey will probably get more reps as the season goes on, but as of now Greene and McCluster are both ahead of him, and he's been fumbling the ball a lot, which won't help him get on the field.
He's really got to shine to take over as the lead back.
And I can't believe you got Lacy and...
He helped them just as much as they helped him. Those throws had to be perfect to allow them to make those great catches. One couldn't have happened without the other in most of those cases they "bailed him out". He put the ball in the perfect spot for the WR's to make a play, and where the DB...
And Russell Wilson tore up the preseason and is a SB QB.
You can take it to either extreme.
Plus, we really aren't basing it off pre-season at all. We were basing the hype off his LSU tape, Greg Cossel saying he's the best rookie QB, and Titans players saying he's going to be the starter one...
Agreed. Most of us here were Mett fans.
To be fair, there were a number of draft "analysts" (not the stupid ESPN guys either) who are quite well known that had a 5th-6th round grade on him too for some reason. I guess they were influenced by their NFL sources or something.
Yeah lol.
IDK what your timezone is, but basically for me games start at either 11:00, 2:30, and then the night games.
So I'll basically get the shitty early games, and the first quarter of West Virignia/Bama or Rice/Notre Dame.
"On Ross Tucker's podcast today Ross mentioned to Cosell that he had received a text from a Titans player on Mettenberger. That text said that Mettenberger is the real deal and that he was going to be the starter at some point. We can speculate on who said that, but that's huge."
Saw this on a...
Damn that one throw to Benjamin from Manziel that drew the PI was a duck. The throw defines the term duck. Shit.
He's got the arm to make the throw though. Didn't make it there though.
