Joe Panik, longtime 2nd baseman for the Giants, is from my area and just got cut. Graduated from the same high school and is married to a good friend of mines sister.

Would make perfect sense for the Mets. Injuries have hurt his offense over the years (this year has been brutal) but would bring gold glove caliber defense to a team that sorely needs it. Makes sense as a local kid who fits a team need after losing Cano to a torn hammy.

I was thinking the same thing actually. And at the very least it would give us some depth of a few players come back from DL, like Smith and Nimmo.

Apparently Brian Cashman got held up at gunpoint by cops who thought he was a car thief.

Tough loss for the Mets last night. Gotta bounce back and take these next two against Atlanta, get a little momentum for the weekend series in KC.

Giovani Urshela going from scrub on the Indians to #3 hitter on a 100 win team was quite the development.

I guess the Dbacks are just going to be a .500 team. Going to miss the wild card...

Less of a surprise I suppose than the Red Sox doing just about the same.
Well I shouldn't complain as the Dbacks were thought to be a well below .500 team, so there's that. Yeah, surprised to see the Red Sox so far behind, 16 games behind the Yankees and 6 games out of the wild card..

I’d have to give the “biggest disappointment award” flat out to the Red Sox and “the biggest surprise” in a draw to the A’s and the Rays (and honorable mention to the Yankees and the Twins).

The NL has pretty much shaped up as expected.

So true with Red Socks going one way and the Rays going the other way.

It's a 5-4 game... the Mets score 5 runs in the 9th inning to go up 10-4, and then proceed to give up 7 runs in the bottom lmao. Back breaker.

That was the final nail in the coffin to our season. Cut Diaz. Cut Avilan. Basically get rid of every reliever other than Lugo because they're all garbage.

Relievers are a rare breed that’s for sure
