Andrew Bynum will undergo arthroscopic surgery on both knees Tuesday, thus ending a season originally filled with anticipation for the Philadelphia 76ers.

The surgery will be performed by Dr. David Altchek of the Hospital of Special Surgery in New York.

"After many months of rehabilitation and consulting with numerous doctors, Andrew and the doctors treating him determined that this is the best course of action at this point," Sixers General Manager Tony DiLeo said in a statement. "We will continue to monitor and evaluate his status moving forward."

Aren't there any clauses that allow them to avoid paying him the full 16.9 this season?

doubt it.

bet he gets like a $1.3M deal with a $10M team option. If he plays well, he gets paid well. If he sucks, he's gone

If the Rockets miss on everyone, I bet they give him a multi year deal worth 10 million annually, at least.
