keep working at it. judging by the way youve done these, it seems your concepts are on a more 'epic' style scale. keep working with it and youll get it over time. the text is pretty poor on them, but thats a pretty hard thing to pick up. try finding some better stocks to work with too. higher quality and more interesting or something.

Thanks. Yeah I am trying to go for epic style wallpapers. I dont want to place the players on a colored background. It's too boring. Although Melo's background was kinda plain. Lol...I been wanting to work on my text effects so I used these wallpapers as an opportunity to work on them. I am still learning about them as they are challenging to do.

Yeah these were my first wallpaper designs of any kind so they were kinda plain. I hope to get better with background designs eventually.

youre gonna pick more up as you go on. text is bad but thats usually the last thing to get. working with adjustment layers will help a lot too

I certainly don't want to be praised for mediocrity. This is something that I believe I can do and want to get better in due time.

its a good idea to do it how youre doing as far as text at least. theres only so much you can do in that department, so i think once you get enough things down youll be able to create something of your own.

Yeah it's all good. I understand where you're coming from. That's why i posted these up because I really need advice on them. Sucks when you upload them to Facebook or deviantart or other sites and barely anyone will really critique it. That's what I need. Well, that and to get "LIKES" and stuff like that. Lol...

its harder these days than anytime in the past few years. the really is no thriving site. BSX is the only graphics forum i know of around and its pretty inactive at the moment, other than that youre left with the graphics section on a sports forum like this.

The DeAndre one looks already pretty godamn sick if you ask me, if you can ignore the text.

Try to switch it up a bit with the text, it's always the same Name-Position-Team format. Also try to stay away from any bevels, stuff like that just looks cheap.

on the deandre jordan one i agree with buzzy on the text.

id find a more high quality, similar looking stock for the background and then work on the contrast and lower the sharpness of the piece overall.

Thanks guys. Text effects are so tricky. Clearly I still need work on them. At least I am trying to do them without no tutorial help. I just dont know what kind of text to put on it besides his name, position and the team he plays for. Yeah I can't get away from Bevel and Emboss. I do noticed that it is kinda cheap to use though. Lol...But I'm glad you guys like this one much better than my previous ones. This one actually got done quicker and it's a good thing because it shows that I am very comfortable with what I'm doing. I just need to execute my ideas more efficiently.
