Celtics And Clippers Discussing Garnett/Jordan Swap


[font=lucida sans unicode']HOUSTON — The Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Clippers have been discussing a deal to trade forward Kevin Garnett for guard Eric Bledsoe and center DeAndre Jordan, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.[/font]

[font=lucida sans unicode']There are differing factions within the Celtics and Clippers on the prudence of the deal, but the two teams have been in regular contact about the possibility, sources said.

Nevertheless, the biggest hurdle could ultimately center on Garnett's willingness to waive his no-trade clause and accept a deal to the Clippers.
Because of his home in Malibu, and a close relationship with Clippers guard Chauncey Billups, there's hope that Garnett, a 15-time All-Star, could be coaxed into accepting a trade if an agreement is reached, sources said.[/font]

[font=lucida sans unicode']The Clippers had expressed reluctance to several teams about parting with Bledsoe until they were certain that Chris Paul would re-sign this summer to a long-term deal, sources said. The organization has become increasingly confident that Paul will stay, but every franchise decision is made within the context of how it will impact Paul, and how he feels about it.[/font]

I honestly don't understand why the Clippers would want to do this deal, but if Boston pulls this off it would be HUGE.

It would be incredibly short sighted to trade Bledsoe for KG. Id be fine with letting Jordan go, though.

theyd be better off now but dj has actually shown hes still improving, kg has admitted hes on the decline. kg has one year less on his contract.

i dont think itd be worth letting bledsoe so.

the coach should always want to improve. i guess losing bledsoe may hold tjem back but its clear that team still doesnt have 100% intentions in always improving and wanting to win, in the front office.

They already have Paul, Billups, Crawford, and Green at G, so Bledsoe is expendable

bledsoe gives them depth and a backup pg without needing to play billups in two different spots, changing his flow.

and kg really only helps them now and maybe next year. dj has great chemistry with the team too and thats hard to give up.

I wouldn't trade him until Chris Paul signs an extension.

For what? A year?

Lets be honest. The Clippers probably won't win the title this year, but they will continue to get better and be a legit threat in a year or so. What sense does Garnett make for them?
