Surprising. It lays to rest all of the other rumors of where Vick would potentially go.

Called it, called the entire Eagles' offseason. The Eagles' offensive talent and weak offensive line just suits Chip Kelly's scheme well and who better to hold-over than a mobile QB like Vick? I knew Vick would take a re-structured deal and why not? He bought a house in South Jersey, his wife runs a biz out of South Jersey and his market wouldnt be all that great.

I think Vick will manage to stay healthy this season and maybe not a playoff but definitely an 8 or 9 win turnaround. Looking ahead, I have no idea what quarterback soon coming out of the NCAA is best suited to run Kelly's offense at the NFL level....but the Eagles wouldn't win a flag football tourney with Dennis Dixon or Nick Foles under center.

The main problem the Eagles had last year was their rushing attack in a standard 1 back set went from 2nd in the league in 2011, to 29th. Their zone blocking was awful last year, which makes it a clear and easy decision to draft Warmack in the 1st round, unless Joeckel is available, which he shouldn't.

If we draft Warmack we better trade down to get him. I don't care how good he is, it's unjustifiable to a guard top 5.

Not in Chip Kelly's scheme, it isn't.

Oregon's #1 play used over the past two seasons is the same as Alabama's #1 play used over the past two seasons: A sweep play to the right.

Warmack led huge success with that play for Richardson, Lacey, and Yeldon, and will do the same for LeSean McCoy and Bryce Brown.

Plus, I don't see a team that will want to trade up to #4 that has the assets (Jets don't have the assets). Arizona might if they think Detroit will take Fisher, but then how do you know Warmack will be there at 7?

Either way we can't consider too much of what Kelly did at Oregon b/c that offense is being adapted to suit the NFL, not carbon-copied. Kelly trying to do exactly what he did at Oregon would fail miserably, hence all these variables being brought up are being considered as Chip makes the necessary adjustments.

The double and triple options and such, yeah that won't work well.

A fast paced offense with a lot of running will work, however.

Before the 2012 season started, Belichick talked to Kelly and New England implemented parts of Oregon's fast pace offense into their scheme. New England got 420 more yards in 2012 than in 2011, and thats with an offense that throws for over 4500 yards a season.

The fast pace implements will work in Philly. I wouldn't expect too many "Vick fake to McCoy, hand off to Desean" type of plays, but a simple "pull guard right sweep" would work well absolutely

Well said bosox.

A lot of what Kelly can do at the NFL level is already being done and I'm sure there's some things he's got in mind that have been saved for his pending NFL term and only his NFL term. I'm very curious to see how this plays out and only wish I was still in the South Jersey area to witness how fast these Iggles' fans hop off and on their own bandwagon.

Other than this indecisiveness, I really like Chip Kelly with the Eagles. A strong defensive coordinator and the Eagles will do some things.

As an Eagles fan, I was pretty much surprised. I can't tell how much I wanted to pull my hair out everytime he fumbled the ball.

Pull Vick out of the West Coast scheme and employ him in a more outside run-and-shoot/spread.....with McCoy, Maclin, D-Jax, and Celek as targets...........I like it. And you know the Eagles will be look to add even more wideout speed through the draft and FA.

Totally agree, and I'm actually pleased to see they're giving Vick one more shot there, rather than flat-out cutting him.

Add even more speed in to the mix this offseason and that can be a lethal offense if implemented properly.
