Cap space doesn't mean much for undesirable locations, and a pure PG mentor for Knight doesn't make much sense. He should be playing to his strengths as a 6th man who comes in shooting. Guy will never be a pure point, have to embrace it.

Don't think we want him to be a pure point.

k.

jose is going ti be able to help him run an offense better. that does not mean hes going to help him become someone hes not.

i dont expect a cavs fan to admit that a team in their division got slightly better. every team in this trade got better, may not have been by very much, but every team did.

I'm a fan of the worst team in the East, why would I care if a team in the division got better?

The Raptors got better. That still doesn't change the fact that they gave up their most promising young player to get an overpaid Rudy Gay, who isn't suddenly going to turn the Raptors into a playoff squad. That's why I don't understand it for them.

The Pistons got better, but it doesn't propel them into a playoff spot, and even if it did, it'd just be the 8th seed, so for them, like I said, I don't think it means much.

we now only have 3 players(four when jose plays) who have been in the playoffs. the 8th seed does help us. the young guys need to taste that.

the raptors didnt give up their most promising young player, they still have terry ross. ed davis isnt anything you can replace, imo. rudy does help them but they still have more work. they got the least of the trade all-in-all.

I think Jose is going to be great for the Pistons and their big men especially. He definitely knows how to find looks, he's always looking to get everyone involved - Pistons fans will notice this much more. He's a helluva guy who always looks like he's trying his hardest out there too. Definitely wouldn't be surprised if Detroit got better offensively. I am a little mad about Davis being gone and Terrence Ross probably coming off the bench but maybe things will look better if we trade Bargnani when he comes back. DeRozan and Gay could be real exciting though. I think we have a better team obviously due to Gay but that doesn't mean a better team in the long run... we have some promise though with some of our young guys.

The Memphis Grizzlies have completed two cost-saving trades over the past few weeks, with their trade of Rudy Gay being the most notable.

Chris Wallace, a holdover from the previous ownership, had nothing to do with the trade.

New Grizzlies CEO Jason Levien is operating largely based on the recommendations of statistician and former media member John Hollinger.

The San Antonio Spurs formerly had Hollingeron their payroll asa consultantand regretfully took his advice to sign Jackie Butler. The Spurs atoned for the mistake by trading away the draft rights to Luis Scola, along with Butler.

Rudy Gay was gracious toward the Memphis Grizzlies following his trade to the Toronto Raptors, but was surprised not to hear directly from anyone within the front office.

"I guess its time to move on," Gay said. "To my teammates and fans, thank you."

Gay didn't receive a phone call from CEO Jason Levien, or any of the new members of the management team.

“I can’t even get a phone call?”

Gay had been with the Grizzlies since his rookie season in 06-07.

“It was good. I can’t really complain about what happened when I was here. I was happy to see the team progress.”

Gay was not described as sounding angry during the conversation.

I'm actually getting really excited for him.

Losing Calderon is a huge lost ... but getting Rudy Gay can't be bad ... Look Ed Davis is good and going to be good as well but to say that he is worth more then Gay ? that's kinda too much

I'm pretty much sure that all 30 teams would want someone like Gay on his team but his over payed I get that ... but as a Rap fan this is something to build around .. we ain't gonna make the playoffs yet but it could be an exciting season to watch next year

I start to think this deal isn't as bad when you think about how much more attractive Toronto will be to play in with Rudy Gay. There's been nothing but a positive vibe with the Raptors ever since he's come here; he seems real happy to come in and be that guy.

Apparently it's real hush hush but I read he wanted out of Memphis.
