Yeah, I'm thinking that is why we traded for Jose. So we could trade Magette and still have CAP space. Maybe Maggette and Stuckey.

Doubt it though. It is Dumars.
even if we dont make a push for josh now id like to see us target him in FAcy. i just find it real hard to think we are done now.

back to toronto, wtf are they doing? they have some many wings lmao. how many are longterm tho? demar, gay, and ross? i think you can live with that.

landry will be the odd man out lol

Smith and Mayo makes me a happy dude in FAcy lol. But yeah I can't see us being done either.

im not sure wed have enough for 2 max deals and im really not sure about maxing mayo. we're gonna need jose back too. i like the idea of him and bk playing 1/2 but again, idk about fulltime. bk is actually starting to scare me. i hope hes not another stuckey situation.

Another thing, I really don't see us moving Knight to the 2 guard, cause he is not a 2 guard. Calderon is a perfect mentor for him, and I'd like to see him come off the bench.

And if that is the case, I don't see us just putting Bynum back to a DNP role (even though I wouldn't mind it).

bk is more of a scorer than a point guard. i want him to be our pg for the future but i really dont know if he has that in him.

and mayo will probably get damn near close to the max, i dont want to be tje team that actually hands that to him lol. he would be our 1st or 2nd option tho so he Kay be worth it.

I think Knight can be a 6 assist per game guy, but a solid scorer. He is too small to play SG, and will get beat defensively. I think having a Calderon to mentor him is a perfect thing for him.

Shit if we have enough, I'd throw him the max lol.

im hoping for 6apg but idk. jose is clearly still a starter and i think at this point he may be the better option for us.

Maybe so. But I think his role should be to mentor Knight, rather than take his job.

They traded away Speights just to trade away Rudy Gay to improve their backup PF

That's not improving.
They improved their team in the process, that's what matters.

Memphis is a team that wants to play defense first and foremost. They improved tremendously on that end by swapping Gay for Prince. I hope you don't even want to argue that point. Gay had all the intangibles to be a good defender but has never put them together. Prince isn't what he once was defensively, but he's still a more quality defender than Gay could ever dream of. He will be more effective man to man than Gay was. That allows other players to not sag off their man to help. You could argue because of his length having Prince defensively is almost like having another body out there for you because he can sag off his man but still recover if he needs too. It's in the numbers, Prince allows 0.8 points per play in spot up situations on 30% shooting while Gay allows 1.0 points per play on 40% shooting and 38% from beyond the arc. Prince is also a much better pick and roll defender than Gay is.

Offensively? I've said it before and I'll say it again, Rudy Gay is a ball stopper offensively. He's going to hurt you offensively with his poor shot selection. Gay essentially takes possessions away from you offensively. He averages 1.05 points per shot which is below average. Now with him gone, Randolph and Gasol will thrive. Not only will they get more touches, but with Gay gone and Prince being inserted for him they'll get more of the single most important thing in offensive basketball, and that's spacing. Gay doesn't help it, Prince does. It's going to allow for more dribble penetration, it's going to allow for more room to operate in the post. It's going to allow for more open looks. Yadda yadda.

Now they'll actually be able to get their best players more involved instead of having Gay taking low percentage contested jumpers from the perimeter time and time again.

i thought it was weird when they re-signed him a few years ago
after the mess with the coach and everything, i just thought all parties were done with each other. nope

Pistons need to redesign unis, logos, etc now. Tayshaun was the last hold over from the Billups era so now they need to start new.

All 3 teams improve in this deal. That's impressive.

Love it for the Grizzlies, don't understand it for the Raptors and the Pistons part doesn't mean much.

it does mean a lot for detroit.

we got rid of our most crippling contract and gained another expiring deal, and he happens to be a player that shoulf help us try to gain some footing in the playoff race and could be a good mentor for knight.
