According to ESPN's John Clayton, Matt Ryan will "clearly" target Drew Brees money in 2013 extension talks. Ryan is owed $10 million entering a contract year, and the Falcons will want to lock him up before the 2013 season. Brees received $20 million per year from the Saints last July. Ryan's agent will be watching the Joe Flacco-Ravens talks closely. Flacco wants Brees money as well, and Ryan has out-performed him. Jan 28 - 6:28 PM

Well, he definitely deserves a fat contract, no question about it, I just hope he doesn't get too big headed and disrupt the team's cap situation

He isn't worth anything near 20M but he'll probably get it.

If the Falcons do move to LA, a lot of that money would be taxed.

The Falcons aren't moving
its hardly even an option. Blank is just trying to get more support from the public to fund the stadium

Ryan is a top 5 QB. I'd be okay with giving him 15 million per.

Matt Ryan gets nine games in a dome and another in Florida every season. Not to mention he doesn't have to play in a Kevin Gilbride offense, where every receiver has at least three different options in terms of routes on every passing play.

Let's not forget Eli's eight playoff wins (five on the road), two SB wins and MVPs, compared to Ryan's one playoff win that was practically gift-wrapped by the Seahawks.

Wasn't there a headline of someone else wanting Drew Brees money too?

Should throw Brees on the 20.

Lets also not forget Eli's 9 seasons versus Matt Ryan's 4, or the fact that Matt Ryan has never thrown more than 14 interceptions, which Eli has done every year except one since Matt Ryan was a rookie
Yes Eli has 2 rings, but he also has 4 more years of experience

Drew Brees throws a lot of picks every season. It doesn't mean that Matt Ryan is better than him, either.

One very narrow playoff win in four seasons, over a wild-card team, does not a great QB make.

How much u want to bet Ryan doesn't win two rings in his next four years?

Lol @ Ryan being better than Eli... stop it

Ryan also has Jones, White, and Gonzalez.

LOL at criticizing Ryan for beating a wild-card team (that, if I recall correctly, you said would beat the Falcons in the first place) when Eli God didn't even lead his team to the playoffs
Regardless of being a Falcons fan, I know for a fact I'm not the only one that would take Ryan over Eli
