Different circumstances? The Thunder got a better deal for a rebuilding team as well.

Kevin Martin sucks, I don't consider him relevant in this. I value Jeremy Lamb highly, not to mention the pretty much guaranteed Raptors lottery pick.

A lot better than Afflalo in pure value.

I like this deal for both sides. The picks that OKC gets will help and it wouldn't surprise me if Lamb became a very good player in a few years. Kevin Martin can score off the bench for OKC and I really don't think they'll miss Harden that much.

Does Houston make the playoffs now? I don't think so. A backcourt of Jeremy Lin and James Harden is VERY intriguing though.

So can Harden shave now?

im telling you, the starting lineup for Houston is super intriguing

Asik (boards and blocks)
Patterson (im high on him. good player)
Parsons(nice player)
Harden
Lin

plus guys like Royce White and Montiejunas off the bench

idk about playoffs, but i'll be watching the Rockets

I'm not following at all.

How does inserting Afflalo in your lineup instead of Lamb make you a worse team?

You're just a fan of Harden lol.
yeah
but seriously that might be my favorite starting lineup lol

Asik is pretty good and i liked Patterson last year. he'll improve

Marcus Morris, Royce, Donatas, Shaun Livingston, Delfino.

you know, they could make the playoffs

There is a slim chance Lamb is going to be better than Afflalo in the next 2 years.

And it's not as if either are going to impact them enough to where they don't suck.

they would have gotten better overall players from houston or brooklyn

they dont want to risk being a fringy playoff team (11-13 seed). they want to straight up suck

aflalo, ayon and harrington could be traded

Idk after reading some of the posts...

Id take KMart over Harden any day... guess thats just me though

And I believe Lamb will be a better fit then Harden, for the Thunder, in the longer run.

Mexi you're forgetting about Terrence Jones, who's been impressive. I don't like Patterson at all, honestly. He doesn't shoot consistently and is often invisible on the court. I think Jones will take his starting role at some point. Either Jones or White.

Asik is a great defender and passer. He's essentially what Chuck Hayes would be if the Wagon was 7' instead of 6'6, and he's probably a little more skilled offensively than Chuck.

and i think a lot of people here forgot maynor is back, he would've reduced hardens playmker duties too.

this thunder team will be just fine.

Tbh, Hardens head got bigger and bigger during last years playoffs..

Trouble was on the way.

OKC made the right move trading him, for their organization, now if we're speaking about chemistry among the team (mainly Russy and KD) it was a terrible move.

James Harden > Kevin Martin

With that being said, Kevin Martin will still provide firepower off the bench for that team and I would fully expect him to contend for 6th man of the year award just like Harden did. Not too mention, the Thunder weren't going to pay him and Ibaka will be a monster in the long run.

So, my thoughts is that the Thunder made out like bandits. Rockets gave up a little too much but they got someone to fill the seats and be their #1 scorer.

Mutually beneficial?
