pretty sad when you have a payroll of 198 million and a team like the A's with a payroll of 55 million is only one game behind you

[/discussion]
could apply this to the orioles as well to a lesser extent. fuck any team who spends north of 100 mill :]

Considering we've gone to the playoffs for 16 of the last 17 years, yeah, it's making the team better.

And winning just one, like we did in 09, made it all worth it.
so youre happy with just making the playoffs and one WS to show for it in your life?

as a pistons fan i can tell you that youre full of it. thats not worth it.

Hardly any players on this team were drafted by the Orioles:

- Matt Wieters
- Nick Markakis (injured)
- Jim Johnson
- Manny Machado
- Brian Matusz

That's about it. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not but either way the O's have done a GREAT job at going out and getting guys, especially guys that flew under the radar of most teams:

- Nate McClouth was batting .140 with the Pirates
- Miguel Gonzalez was in the Mexican League
- Chris Davis was an afterthought in the Koji Uehara trade.
- Wei-Yin Chen under the radar from Taiwan
- Jason Hammel for Jeremy Guthrie was supposed to be "the worst trade of the offseason".

Etc. Keep getting mad though.
Getting mad? What's to be upset about? Not like the O's will win a ring this year or anything. They'll be total shit again the next season. For once you idiot's get a chance to talk shit -- enjoy it, it won't last.

Texas or Detroit will tap that ass in the playoffs.

They have 5 in my lifetime, only two of which I really remember though

I never said I was happy with just making the playoffs every year, but it's certainly better than the alternative which is missing the playoffs for a few years, then making them for a few years, then missing them for a few years, which is what every other team other than the Red Sox and Braves have done for the past like 10+ years.

But the Rays would fare so well with that lineup!!!

Trust me, I know from experience, having a really good rotation > having a really good lineup.

The Orioles don't have either, which is why their success is befuddling, but that's besides the point.

Lol at naming the players the Tigers signed, from a Yankees fan.

No I didn't. I understand what you mean. But to hear it from a Yankees fan is just hilarious.

So you didn't grow up a Yankees fan, then?

I remember the Braves WS run like it was yesterday and I was only a kid then too.

And Blake the only reason I'm talking trash is because you acted like it would be easy to knock the O's out of the playoffs.

thats a pretty big age difference..
When you're talking about things that happened when you're like 5 years old, that's a pretty big difference considering I remember a lot of shit from when I was 10 and hardly anything from when I was 5
