As @mortreport is reporting, an agreement between NFL and NFLRA is at hand and both sides will work to have officials working this weekend.
It's amazing how fast things start to move when you have something big happen, like what happened Monday night.

I was looking forward to keeping the replacements.

Glad to have them back. Knew they'd strike a deal after the events of last week lol.

I'm curious how much the NFL caved.

Regardless I'm sort of going to miss the replacement ref area. Gave me something good to laugh about.

Now people will remember just how not perfect the real refs actually were.

I'm not saying they aren't better than the replacement refs, obviously they are, but they still make plenty of terrible calls.

I guarantee that if it had been real refs in place Monday night, that call would've been forgotten within two days, but since they are "replacement refs" everybody has an excuse to bitch about. It's funny how Green Bay fans won't acknowledge the fact that their go ahead score came about because of a bogus pass interference penalty that kept their drive alive. Didn't see any complaints or threats to boycott the rest of the season then.

Even their team lol. I just can't understand why they are complaining so much. They shouldn't have let an inferior team get that close to begin with.

regardless, it makes me feel bad having gotten so mad at the regular refs considering how bad the replacements were.

And yes, the real refs would miss calls or make bad calls, but they didn't fuck up jersey numbers or say "red team" and whatnot. They made some real bonehead calls out there that were just absolute head scratchers, and having the real refs back will be a blessing.

Yeah. Fans will still complain about the refs, cause no one is perfect. But it wont be nearly as bad.

Exactly, the real refs aren't great, but they aren't horrendous like the replacements.

With the first wave of reports that a deal between the NFL and locked-out officials was close, next comes the wave of reports saying "Not so fast Roger."

Sports Illustrated's Peter King just tweeted: "NFLRA negotiator Scott Green has notified officials that a deal is not imminent."

Didn't the NFL do the same thing last year when they claimed they had a deal with the players and what they had actually done was put a "take it or leave it" offer on the table and tried to bully the players into signing by using public opinion? This has Pash and Goodell written all over it, they only have a few plays in their book and this in one of them. It didn't work then and it probably wont going to work this time

I don't think the real refs have ever flagged a punt returner for holding either.

As it's pretty much already been said, they are the replacements, which is why they were being ragged on so much. Regular officials make mistakes too, but because they are the regulars they don't take as much crap for it. Although, now it'll be waiting until the regulars make a mistake. The first time they do, I see it being blown a bit out of proportion. The main thing is that the officiating should be better when they are back.

I can easily see it having fans glad they are back, and after their team losses it's "the officials fault."

Gene Steratore (10th season in NFL) will ref Thursday night’s game on NFL Network and lead the seven-man crew.

I saw somewhere that the union has 121 members. Didn't realize they had that many guys.
