Which team will be better this year? The Philadelphia 76ers or New York Knicks?

I'll have to say Knicks, especially with the addition of Jason Kidd who is a real good distributor, especially for someone like Amare. The 76ers still need to prove themselves. Evan Turner hasn't been as great as expected. Evan Turner and Jrue Holiday are going to have to show up for this team to be good in my opinion. Andrew Bynum helps the 76ers look really good though.

I think the addition of Bynum is huge for the Sixers. But I don't know if they have quite enough talent around him to finish ahead of the Knicks.
They will certainly be a playoff team, but I think they did this deal just to get a huge piece to build around, rather than expecting to win big now. Still a couple pieces away.

The Knicks should be better, they seem to enjoy fucking with everyone's predictions and underachieving though. They have a ton more talent than the 6ers, who basically have a bunch of complementary guys and Bynum.

I'm going with Philadelphia. Not only do they have the best scoring center in the NBA, they have continuity and team chemistry, and they filled up Iggy's scoring by adding Richardson, so they just need to figure out how to make up for Iggy's defense. They also have a MUCH better coach.

The Knicks plan on playing Raymond Felton at PG when he's only ever thrived in another coach's system. Carmelo does not acquiesce to his teammates because he flat out refuses to change his game for the betterment of the team, Amar'e punches fire extinguishers, and Tyson Chandler may be a defensive stalwart but there's no guarantee he can do anything offensively.

Some of you people severely overrate the Knicks. I've noticed that since coming here. Can't we wait for them to prove something first? The Sixers got farther than the Knicks would have with less talent than they have now. The Knicks being the better team doesn't add up. Is it possible? Yes, but I don't see it happening.

Asking us to wait until the Knicks prove something, while saying the 76ers are better despite just making a massive change to their roster by moving Iggy for Bynum, who will always be a knee injury waiting to happen and who knows how he handles going from being the #3 option to the #1 option on a team. His post defense is still really suspect as well.

Philly has Dorrell Wright to play SF now instead of Iguodala, so there isn't a huge position drop.
And with Bynum as a top option, he will either get a fuckload of points down low in the paint, and get like 24 PPG, or he will get enough attention in the post, that it will get guys like Jrue and ET and Wright open for jump shots.

I'd say Philly's better. Knicks got some mediocre/decent PGs, and an old ass 38-39 y/o backup big who will be quite limited offensively at the stage in his career

Philly because they have the best center in the league, and are building an actual "team". The Knicks are playing like a pickup team at Rucker park.

philly. theyll play the game inside-out which will be huge for jrue/et/jrich/nick/dorrel. bynum is the top center in the east and damn near close to the best center in the league. im just not sold on NY's "team" at all. however, i wont be shocked if NY has a better record.

Last year, Iggy had 17.79 points per 36 minutes, per 25 USG%, 17.96 the year before


So yeah, offensively Wright is a step up from Iguodala. And obviously he's not as good defensively, but he's averaged over a steal per game as a Warrior.

I love how you try to post those stats about offense when you completely ignore assists per game AND shooting percentages. Andre Iguodala is a much better player than Dorrell Wright. He's a better slasher, a better passer, and if you want to base it off of last year's percentages, he's even a better shooter. Iguodala is also a top 3 perimeter defender in the NBA, something Dorrell Wright doesn't even SNIFF him in. If you're going to use steals per game as a measure of defense, then is Monta Ellis an elite defender?

Dorrell Wright is such a drop off. He had one good year in the fast-paced Warriors system in 2010-11 and now he's on the level of NBA all-stars such as Andre Iguodala?
