Carmelo denies pushing Lin out of NY

Carmelo Anthony dismissed the notion that he helped run Jeremy Lin out of New York, saying "believe it or not I've been one of the true supporters of Jeremy Lin.

“Money talks at the end of the day. I said this in Vegas, Houston threw something out there that he couldn’t refuse ... I’m proud of him, happy for him. I wish him all the best.”

Anthony communicated with Lin during the free agency process and maintains that he hoped the third-year point guard would remain in New York.

“It’s not something I brag about or broadcast,” Anthony said. “But I’ve been one of his supporters along the way. After he signed with Houston I talked to him. He texted me. I’ll keep that disclosed what we talked about it. But it was a great text. What he sent me really meant a lot.”

This doesn't change the fact that Carmelo can't mesh with other score first players. He may not have verbally pushed Lin out, but I'm pretty sure NYK is very aware that they can't have too many me-guys around the biggest me-guy in the league.

Lin isn't that good, at all. And yeah, he didn't mesh with Melo at all. But Melo is significantly better than Lin, so I really don't see an issue

but the problem is people keep saying "oh, Melo didn't like him so he must have influenced them". Getting sick of it.

I wouldn't say Lin is not good "at all," and he could only get better from where he is. He'll lead Houston nicely.
