If you want to talk crazy money, Lin was worth over 50 mill for the Knicks last season... That pays for 2 of these contracts.

Yanks you more then welcome to hop your ass right off the Knicks wagon....

As for Lin he was big for us, a breath of fresh air but he is what he is..

An erratic PG, with poor defensive skills and suspect handles. Id take Felts over him any and everyday.

With that said, I still think we should match the Rockets offer, shit its a reasonable contract the 1st 2 yrs, we'll only have to pay that luxury tax for 1 year, plus it will be an expiring contract after that.

Don't wanna dig up the stats but for the shit Lin takes on this site. Lin's numbers under D'Antoni were better than Felts and Lin was essentially a rookie last year.

The Knicks have until midnight on Tuesday evening to decide whether to match Jeremy Lin's $25 million offer sheet with the Rockets.

New York is reportedly still considering whether or not to match, but one source tells Stephen A. Smith that they will let Lin walk.

The third season of Lin's deal is worth $14.8 million, which would bring their total out-of-pocket cost for Lin to $30 million because of the luxury tax.

The media needs to stop attributing 100% of the tax to Lin. The tax wouldn't be a problem without the bloated contracts of Melo, Stat, and Tyson. The tax can be attributed to them all.

Lin deserves the max because he brought in $50m of extra revenue for Linsanity alone.

Poor defensive skills and suspect handles? You're being awfully kind to Raymond Felton.

20 pp36, 8 ap36, 2 steals... And it goes beyond the numbers. Look at what the Knicks were before Lin - a lethargic team that looked perfectly content with finishing outside of the playoffs. Insert Lin and you have one of the most exciting runs in league history, and a team with a new fire in their eyes.

What will Felton do? We KNOW what he'll do. Take out his half year with D'antoni, and you have a PG who gives you 13 pts and 6-7 assists. It's solid, but what does that do for you?

Lin is 23 years old and coming off, for all intensive purposes, his rookie season. He proved that he has a scoring ability that few other PGs in the league have. Sure he can clean his game up a bit, but what 23 year old can't you say that about? Give me the guy who has room to grow and is ALREADY a MUCH better player over the fat Raymond Felton, who has proven that he just doesn't give a shit when things don't go exactly how he wants them to.

Anthony, speaking before practice with the U.S. Olympic team, was then reminded it's up to the Knicks, not Lin, to decide whether he stays or goes.

"It's not up to me," Anthony said with a laugh. "It's up to the organization to say they want to match that ridiculous contract that's out there."

I actually hope he spurs with the Rockets if the Knicks don't match; he's a great investment if he improves, and if Linsanity continues, the Rockets will only get richer haha.

that response is pretty shitty; if true. as a teammate of someone you should support them regardless. i could see melo having say so behind the doors and wanting lin out because the spotlight isnt on him.

Don't tell me yall are gonna blow that comment out of proportion too

He's right, Lin isn't a 15mil player the contract is ridiculous, but everyone ignores the fact he said he'd love to have him back.

Yanks I honestly don't know what/who your watching Lin better then Felton? Smh

At the very least our PG shouldn't be scared to be in the spotlight with the pressure on him. Lin folded vs the Heat in that much talked about game, and didn't even want to play against them in the playoffs when he was "85 percent ready"

If we don't match the offer, I hope he falls flat on his face in Houston. And except this time they won't be able to just cut him.

Nope, but they'll be able to use him as a trade chip if he's terrible by the time he's owed $15

Doesn't matter how bad you suck, if you make a lot of money and you're expiring, people will want your contract

lets just say he averages 16/6/3tpg for the next three years and becomes a free agent how do you think his next contract will go?

idk, i was just saying what he averages over the length of the contract. if we go yearly say he gets 17/6/4tpg in the final season. im not saying %s but go off of how they are now, they likely wont get too much better or too much worse
