Jose Calderon has informed the Raptors that he would welcome a trade, according to sources close to the situation.

Toronto would like to receive a trade exception in exchange for Calderon’s $10.6 million salary, which would give them financial flexibility for further moves.

The Mavericks have expressed interest in Calderon, but will first consider an amnesty bid for Elton Brand.

Would be great for us to move his contract to gain more flexibility, but damn, I'll miss the guy. He plays hard every night; you can see it in him. He also waved at me in the crowd at a Heat-Raptors game when I waved at him, it was dope. It would be weird seeing him somewhere else, but he definitely deserves to win, and I'm sure a team can use what he brings. He's a great distributor; he needs to shoot more though.

How old is he? The Mavs just got Collison who's young, but he's not a starter. Calderon and Collison would be pretty sick.

The Mavs have pretty much no shot at contending this coming year, but they'll be a lot better. Brendan Haywood was wasted space. Jason Kidd needed to go somewhere else. All they need to solidify is find some bench points to replace Terry.

I like how this team is being put together for this season.
