I really can't wait to see how Nash and Kobe mesh together. Definitely going to be an interesting duo.Kobe Bryant is looking forward to playing with newly-acquired point guard Steve Nash.
"He gives us a much, much better chance," Bryant said after the first day of USA Basketball training camp in Las Vegas. "He's a terrific shooter. And shooting is something that was lacking for us. His ability to play-make for others out of the pick and roll is one of the best we've ever seen. He has a high basketball IQ, in terms of being a coach out on the floor.
"It puts me in my natural position, which is that of a shooting guard and that of a finisher. Michael (Jordan) had Scottie (Pippen), who was a great facilitator for him and enabled Michael to do what he does best, which is score the ball."
Asked if Nash was enough to put the Lakers over the top again, Bryant said: "I don't know if they're done. I don't think they're done.
"They've obviously had a track record of things that have proven to be beyond what other teams in the league can do. The moves that they make, they just seem to come out of nowhere. Steve Nash, that just kind of came out of nowhere. Pau Gasol, that just came out of nowhere. That's just kind of been our M.O."

EXACTLYkobe will be fine
he'll let nash do his thing. kobe getting spoon fed will be great. he's auto from mid range
my main worry is end of a game. will he go in Kobe mode or let Nash do his thing? what if Nash wants to give it to Pau or Andrew in a mismatch down low?
wow. i can't believe Nash is a Laker
one of my wildest dreams come true. i dont care how old he is
pretty good shadow averaging 11 assists last year, 53% shooting, 39% from 3I really wish I understood how this is going to take LAL over the top. Steve Nash is a mere shadow of who he used to be and the Lakers still don't have anyone who can guard Russell Westbrook unless they're going to try MWP on him, and I think even Metta is too slow for him.
This gives them a couple of more PPG but still no defense. Are Nash's passing abilities really enough to get anything done? The Lakers needed to make cap room to go after Dragic, but they didn't. That was their chance to be set at PG.
Lol at you trying to tell us Goran Dragic is a better fit than Steve Nash.I really wish I understood how this is going to take LAL over the top. Goran would have them set at PG for years and while maybe not as great at distributing as Nash, he'd score more points and play better defense.Lol at you trying to tell us Goran Dragic is a better fit than Steve Nash.
Outside Rajon Rondo, Nash is the perfect PG for Kobe.
Nash is ten million times better at creating for others though, and that's the #1 thing you look for in a PG. I like Goran a lot but the Suns will NOT be better with him next year.Goran would have them set at PG for years and while maybe not as great at distributing as Nash, he'd score more points and play better defense.
