The Raptors are close to acquiring Kyle Lowry in a trade agreement with the Rockets.

Houston will receive at least one first round pick and Gary Forbes. The Rockets had tried to acquire Toronto's 2012 pick while targeting either Andre Drummond or Austin Rivers.

Lowry wanted to leave the Rockets following a falling out with Kevin McHale.

Toronto previously unsuccessfully pursued Steve Nash via free agency.
They are now working on signing Lin. Which really makes no sense that they'd wanna trade Lowry before actually getting Lin. I see the Knicks matching nearly any offer for Lin.

Yep, don't quite see what they are trying to accomplish.
Maybe they should make a play for Calderon if he is amnestied or whatever.

And also, I expect Toronto to be not too bad now, actually

Jonas-Bargs-Ross-Derozan-Lowry
That could compete for the playoffs if Jonas does well. I think TRoss will be very solid

That first might not be that amazing of a pick. 12-16 range

ive read/heard the knicks will likely match any deal aside from a max offer for lin, too. dont know why they didnt wait. i dont even think lin has signed the offer sheet yet. lol.

i guess this isnt a bad deal for toronto either.

It's heavily protected so that it will be a good pick, no matter when they get it.

The pick will have limited protections, but was called “a likely lottery pick.” Protections, still being discussed, could keep the pick from coming in the upper echelon of the draft. In an unusual clause in the deal, the Rockets also will not get the pick next season if the Raptors’ season keeps the pick from getting too late in the draft.

So yeah, it's definitely going to be a lottery pick. :( That's the catch lol.

Really don't get this for the Rockets at all, unless the relationship between McHale and Lowry was that bad they definitely should have kept Lowry unless they know that the Knicks aren't going to match his offer sheet or they're going to work out a S&T

There has to be a follow-up move to this because alone it just doesn't add up

Lowry is overrated, this is good value. The Raps will still be in the lotto next year.

He's not overrated. He's called a borderline all-star when healthy for a reason. He'll play like it again, but nobody thinks he's top 5 or anything. Had he not gotten sick and then injured and played at the same level all year last year, there'd be no doubt that's he's top 10

If he continues to grow as a player, he'll reach an all-star game soon and people can stop ragging me for liking him so much as a player. The guy is just fearless, plays great defense and rebounds great for a PG. He finishes well at the rim and can hit the three, and most importantly he has whatever the hell the clutch gene is. I don't like that term, but Kyle single-handedly won games for Houston last year by draining late shots.

The guy is a baller. Let's stop treating him like he's only a decent PG.

No doubt top 10?

Rondo
Deron
Cp3
Rose
Nash
Russy
Kyrie
Lawson
Curry
Jrue

I'd take all 10 over Lowry, and maybe others as well
