"Yuck... Omer Asik Offer is back loaded with a nasty $15 million year in the 3rd year... ouch that's gonna be tough to match."

What is the rational to giving Asik 15 million in one year? lol.

Makes it less likely for the Bulls to match, because the tax penalties would be severe in 2014-15.

He's got the potential to be an elite rebounder and great post defender. First two years of the deal, he'll be making around 5 million, and if he lives up to the expectations, then 15 million might not be so terrible and they could work on an extension, or he could flop and that 15 million dollar expiring deal is a valuable trade piece.

But it is Asik. He is completely unproven, and has only shown to be a decent big off the bench.

Because he has great size and length, he's young and has proven to be effective at the center position.

With the lack of talent at center in the league, you're going to have to overpay when a guy like Asik hits the market.

Asik will no doubt be worth 5 million and expiring contracts are always valuable trade chips, especially those of the $15M variety. It's actually kind of genius now that I think about it.

IDK, I think it is dumb to give a guy 25 million who averaged 3 and 5.
Best case scenario, I think he is a 9 and 10 type guy with starter minutes.

Guess you are right about the center market though.

He also only played 14 minutes per game though.

His averages per 36 were in the 8/13/2.5 ballpark.

He shouldn't even be in the game in those situations offensively.

i get the idea of the back-loaded deal but its still bad because that final year he will NOT be worth $14M or whatever it is.

If we are gonna keep it real on the Asik thing, the best way to sum it up is the Bulls are being TROLLED.

The Suns are meeting unrestricted free agent Michael Beasley on Sunday and restricted free agent Eric Gordon on Tuesday.

Beasley averaged 17.9 points per 36 minutes last season as the Timberwolves’ sixth man.

The Hornets are expected to match any offer sheet that Gordon signs.

The Clippers are in advanced talks with unrestricted free agent Jamal Crawford, sources close to the situation tell Alex Kennedy of HoopsWorld. Los Angeles is aggressively pursuing Crawford and are hoping to fly him out later this week for a face-to-face meeting.

Crawford has also drawn interest from the Celtics, Timberwolves, Suns, 76ers, and Pacers and all six teams contacted Crawford last night. The 32-year-old averaged 14.0 PPG and 3.2 APG in a shade under 27 minutes per game. The guard has always been a strong shooter from the charity stripe but raised his free throw percentage to a career-high 92.7% last season.

Asik is like a 40% free throw shooter.

C.J. Watson should have never given him the ball and put him in that situation.
