"Donovan McNabb has passed for 37,276 yards with 234 touchdowns. He's been to six Pro Bowls, most recently in 2009, and has led teams to six division titles and five conference championship games. Yet, he's not one of the 133 quarterbacks on current NFL rosters, which allow for up to 90 players.

McNabb has reportedly dropped 20 pounds this offseason. The 35-year-old has expressed a desire to continue his playing career. On Thursday night, the third overall pick of the 1999 NFL Draft told NBC SportsTalk that there's an 80-to-90 percent chance he'll be on an NFL roster at the start of the 2012 regular season.

"I have about three teams that I'm looking at," McNabb said.

"I think teams are looking at what they have. They're evaluating their young quarterbacks, their backup situation," McNabb said. "Obviously, their starters they feel very confident in, but if things were to go wrong in training camp, or maybe the competition isn't where they need it to be, they'll obviously pick up the phone and call.""

In all fairness, McNabb wasn't nearly as bad as everyone made him out to be last year. If the Vikings defense doesn't collapse in the second half in the first four games they're 4-0 and nobody is calling for him to be benched.

He played well in 4 of his 6 starts, all 4 of which they lost.

He played like shit in all 6 starts. The only reason they had leads was the defense in the first half and Adrian Peterson. It was Donovan McNabb who couldn't convert a third down or score more than three points in those second halves. The fucker would short-hop EVERY third down pass.

Donovan McNabb is the most overrated quarterback in NFL history. Any NFL fan could see that Andy Reid had to make up for the poor draft pick by designing an offense that specifically avoided Donovan's faults such as intermediate throwing, because Donovan is too much of a diva to actually listen to criticism about his mechanics. Bad mechanics can throw check downs to Brian Westbrook and deep balls pretty much force a quarterback to plant his feet and throw correctly.

McNabb would not have succeeded anywhere other than Philadelphia.

I fucking hate Donovan McNabb with a passion. He's an arrogant, self-important moron who could have been MUCH better than he actually was if he'd just listened to coaching.

He never deserved a Super Bowl and work ethic is why. There's a reason TO flipped on him. If Terrell Owens can't be faulted for one thing, it's his constant effort and amazing work ethic and when his quarterback won't show the same thing, he'll open his big mouth. I'm glad he did. I hope people eventually look at TO's Philadelphia situation differently, and people already know he didn't do anything wrong in Dallas. Werder just fabricated a story out of nothing.

McNabb has been exposed, and it's a great thing.

And that is why your opinion holds no merit.

False. The facts I just listed about Donovan are the basis behind my opinion. I held no hatred for him prior to the way he sabotaged Minnesota's season last year. Had they started Ponder from day 1, they probably would have won quite a few of those games, because the kid could at least throw a friggin' touchdown pass.

Skip Bayless uses facts all the time, doesn't mean he's right.

Words cannot describe how much better he was that Donovan McNabb, though. It was a fucking lightyear. The kid had some interception troubles, but most rookie QBs do.

McNabb had a higher yards per attempt, better QB rating, higher completion percentage, better TD/INT ratio, averaged more yards per game even with his 39 yard game in week 1.

None of that matters. They couldn't score with him throwing the ball, and did he even throw 5 TDs? No. He didn't. His stats are irrelevant. 6 games and 4 TDs? Who we talking about, Alex Smith?

They could at least move the ball with CP7.

Yes, they could move the ball, as shown by him averaging less per attempt and averaging less yards per game.

Ponder was 2-9 as a starter.
Also was a rookie.

Donovan McNabb would be a good pickup for a backup but his ego will get the best of him yet again.

I have to watch/listen to the Vikings in the tractor/truck every Sunday. I know what I saw and heard--a horrible QB finally being exposed and a young promising rookie who finally allowed us to throw the ball.

Also, Donovan's YPA is GREATLY inflated by several completed deep balls that he couldn't convert into TDs.
