The Rockets are stockpiling high draft picks with the hope of acquiring Dwight Howard, according to sources.

Houston pursued a blockbuster deal for Pau Gasol last December and he remains available from the Lakers, but a source said that he is no longer a target.

The Rockets currently own the No. 12, 14 and 16 picks.

JVG and Chris Broussard on draft coverage duties for ESPN, two guys who don't watch College Basketball.

They had a small preview of the draft, and JVG said "of the 3 games I watched, I liked what I saw".

Syracuse's Dion Waiters could be in play at No. 4 to Cleveland, according to those close to Waiters. That would shake up lottery a bit.
Which brings us to tonight’s potential shocker. There is a chance, regardless of how small, that the Cavs could stun the NBA world again with a choice at No. 4 no one saw coming.

Like Syracuse shooting guard Dion Waiters.

At 6-foot-4 and 220 pounds, Waiters has a thick physique. He excels at getting into the lane and getting to the basket, and Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim has compared his style of play to Dwyane Wade.

One scout outside the Cavs said Waiters might be the best pure scorer in this draft, and scoring remains this team’s biggest need. With Antawn Jamison gone, they must find someone to take some of the scoring burden off Irving. That just might be Waiters.

It sounds ridiculous now, particularly since he didn’t even start at Syracuse, but the Cavs have been high on Waiters and have had him under consideration all along for the fourth pick.
I'm a fan of Waiters, but if they want him they need to trade down and get another asset.

All the pieces are in place for Dre to fall. Raptors like Rivers. Warriors like Waiters. Blazers like Lillard. No one in top 5 will take him.
Awesome.

Can't see them taking him with Barnes or MKG falling to them. Maybe even both if the Cavs do take Waiters.

The Cavs would consider Waiters if Beal and MKG are gone, they're not gonna take him over either.

Well regardless, either TRob, MKG, or Barnes will end up falling to the Kings. And I don't think they'd take Dre over any of those 3.

They might just be bluffing. Maybe seeing if a team like Detroit would trade up to 5. Which I've wanted us to do for the longest time lol.

And I did read we are flirting with moving up to secure Andre. Not likely though.
But after drafting Jimmer last season, I really don't think Petrie has the balls to gamble on a Drummond.

Kings will not entertain trading 5th pick until they see who is available, sources tell Y! Word is Sacramento loves Kansas' Thomas Robinson.

Which means the Bobcats can't trade down past 4.

Perry Jones III may be sliding down the draft due to a meniscus issue in his knee, according to multiple sources.

Opinions from league doctors vary in terms of the seriousness, but it may require surgery down the road.

Billy Duff, Jones' agent, declined to comment on the situation.
