What the fuck do I care about a center's vert

And I've yet to see anything about his defense yet

a center with his size and that 41 inch vert will help a lot. his timing can be off and hed still be able to recover and make blocks/grab rebounds....

the only person i can see slipping to us would be drummond and i doubt that. but i like what pj3 could be. he can come in and play the three and four for us and then hopefully take tays spot in a few years. but henson doesnt seem like that bad of a pick. i know what you mean with the weight/lanky issue but hes going to have to still bulk up a bit more.

If Henson can get to 225/230 that's ideal. I think PJ3 obviously has a lot more basketball talent than Henson but that's such a risky pick, and I'm not sure if Detroit can afford to take that risk with where their roster sits right now. The Pistons need a good interior defender to complement Monroe and Henson fills that role nicely.

for now i honestly think if we drafted pj3 he could get the time he needs to turn into what he "could" be. id rather get help now down low but i also still want that high reward type player.

Like I said where PJ3 goes depends on whether or not they feel like they have the wiggle room where can take that risk. I don't think the Pistons are in that position right now.

Houston
Milwaukee
Portland
Phoenix
Toronto

I forgot to mention that Henson at 9 is a BIT of a reach, they could maybe trade down and acquire another asset and still get him.

Meyers Leonard's stock is gonna go up if anything. He's got an NBA ready body and should be able to produce in workouts.

Over the next few weeks, don’t be surprised if a large number of teams outside of the lottery try to trade their first-round pick.

Multiple sources have told HOOPSWORLD that a lot of teams are trying to get rid their pick, which could make for an interesting draft night.

“Almost everyone wants to get out of their pick in this draft,” said one Western Conference executive. “For some teams, it’s hard to take on money for multiple years in this economic climate, especially if the player would not make an impact and help the team win immediately.”

That means contending teams like the Oklahoma City Thunder or Chicago Bulls may opt to trade their late first-round pick rather than draft a rookie who won’t really contribute (just like Reggie Jackson and Jimmy Butler this season). Expect plenty of trade rumors over the next several weeks.

I've already heard that the chances of Robert Sacre (second-undrafted) being with the Hornets this summer are EXTREMELY likely unless a team takes him before they can trade into the 2nd.

Imho (and I don't mean for this to be disrespectful), but aside from Greg yall really don't have any players that are good enough (or are projected to be good) that should make yall pass over one position and take another. You could throw Knight in there, and I'm personally not a huge fan but this obviously is a bad class for PG's. I mean I know Stuckey just got a new contract, and Ben Gordon is still making a good bit, but this class has some good off guards. If a Lamb, Waiters, or Ross (hell Barnes by a slim chance?) are available and Dumars and company like them, how do you really pass them up just because you have two guys getting paid? That obviously wouldn't be a good situation, but I don't really think yalls pick will be in a great position regardless.

lamb is a reach at nine. trading down wouldnt be bad. but ive been saying i would draft lamb, or austin rivers lol. i wouldnt want to at nine though(lamb being the only guard i would). i would draft harrison if hes there(and he wont be) and i think joe would, too. as for greg, rumors are that we dont even see him as a five so idk wtf our plans are to be honest.

Stuckey and Gordon aren't that good, but I don't see how we can draft a 2 guard when we have 2 already with like the 2 biggest contracts on the team.

both stuckey and gordon will be expired before the rookie contract is though. and if we dont use the amnesty now i can see us using it once bg ops in. unless he actually ops out of $18M. lol

I don't think Lamb would be a reach at nine, he's got real talent and potential. If I made a top 10 list he would probably be in it.

I just think you have some teams that are real good judges of talent and where their teams are, then you have some other teams that aren't. What was with McGrady last year? The rumors of Chris Kaman maybe signing with Detroit? None of that makes sense. Which brings me to another point, and you would know this better than I would, but if Tayshaun wasn't a part of those Larry Brown teams (or all those ECF's and Final appearances never happened) would Tayshaun still be a Piston? Would Rip Hamilton have lasted as long?

So we draft a two and put him on the bench for like 3 years? And he won't be getting many of those minutes during that time.
I'd MUCH rather draft a two then have Stuckey and Gordon, but it just doesn't make sense right now unless we do get rid of one of the two. Or both.
