What if the Clippers Never Traded Away Baron Davis?

At the Trade Deadline last season, the Clippers traded Baron Davis and a 2011 1st round pick for Mo Williams and Jamario Moon.
That 1st round pick ended up being Kyrie Irving.

So if that pick was never traded, what happens to CP3? Is he still a Hornet? A Laker? A Knick? Are the Clippers better off with EJ and Kyrie, than CP3?

I think they probably would have traded Kyrie in a deal for CP3, instead of Gordon.

i think the clippers would be better off with kyrie, eric, blake, and the rest of the cast they got. id say they wouldnt have been as good this season but theyd be a lot better off in the coming years. hell, part of me does want to say they would have been better this season, too.

as for cp3 i think hed be in la, still.

actually what dan said kind of makes sense. i could have seen them trading away kyrie still for cp3.

There are still the knee concerns for CP in the future.

By the way, the Clippers-Cavs trade has to be one of the most lopsided trades in NBA history, all things considered.

New Orleans Namelesses would probably have wanted both EJ and Kyrie, plus the Minny pick.

Greedy bastards.

Then how does the package of Gordon-Aminu-Kaman-MIN 1st for CP3+2 2nds get changed? I would assume that Kyrie would be more valuable than EJ, so is Aminu taken out of the deal? Is the MIN 1st?

Kyrie's value was much lower before he played an NBA game.

I'd assume It would be something like:

Kyrie
Gordon
Kaman
Minny 1st

for

Chris Paul
Bench player
Two 2nds

If we're building for more than one year, I'd rather have just Kyrie than CP3.

Yeah but the Clips REALLY wanted CP. I can remember during the trade talks everyone here kept saying "the Clippers have all the leverage." I kept saying they didn't and people disagreed. In the end, the Hornets did have the leverage because they had the guy LA wanted. They swore up and down that they wouldn't give up Gordon and the first, but they did in the end.
