According to his comments posted on Youtube, 2012's "Mr. Irrelevant" had a deal in place with the San Diego Chargers, prior to being drafted by the Colts. The former Northern Illinois quarterback says his agent was getting calls from all sorts of teams, to include the Colts. Once the Colts had discovered Harnish had struck a deal in principle with the Chargers, they opted to use their final pick in the draft.

So for those wondering why the Colts pulled a "Cousins" in the 7th round...there ya go.

They drafted him just so the Chargers wouldn't get him? Why? Do they think he's going to beat out Phil Rivers lol? Don't see the point.

He was probably a main priority for them for UDFAs, and since they found out they wouldn't be able to sign him, they used their 7th round pick on him.
