Metta World Peace has been suspended seven games by the NBA.

World Peace will miss the final Lakers' game of the regular season and their first six playoff games. If the Lakers play fewer than six playoff games, the suspension will carryover into the 12-13 regular season.

World Peace elbowed James Harden to the head on Sunday.

If anything, this is too harsh. I can't believe most people think he deserves more. This wasn't nearly as dangerous as Bynum decking Barea last year.

Bynum got too many games for trying to hurt someone after a game had been decided and his season was done?

yup. Bynum attacked a much smaller individual who was in the air. It could have resulted in a shoulder or knee dislocation, if not a major head injury from his head snapping to the floor. Ron caught the side of someone's head with a nasty elbow, and we've all had that happen to us, if not intentionally. I actually think because of the location of the hit (not really a terribly dangerous spot behind the ear on solid skull), it was much less dangerous than Bynum's hit. Now, had Ron caught Harden's temple or face, we're talking season long suspension, in my book.
