Pau Gasol becomes another victim.
I think fans of him like to call him Eric Jordan lol. If I'm not mistaken.
Never made much sense to me.
Ohh lol. I was under the impression it was EJ because of MJ lol.Eric Gordon Jr.
His preferred nickname is EJ.
Who says that?I do know this, people need to stop with this Eric Gordon is a PG bullshit.
Some Hornets fans. They think Gordon could play the point full time so if we can't get Davis the next guy we should look at is Beal. Hornet fans are far from the brightest of the bunch.Who says that?
I will keep this simple. A PG is someone who could lead the fast break that develops out of any situation, whether that is a steal, rebound, or even after a made basket. If the break can't be set up, he must be able to bring the ball up against pressure defense then set up and play out of a half court offense. Point guard needs to be an excellent passer, he needs to be able to hit the open player and must anticipate the play before it actually happens. He should be smart enough to get the ball to the player with the hottest hand, but also smart enough to get the other four players on the floor involved. He needs to be able to penetrate, attract attention, and finish the play. Whether that be on his own or another teammate. He needs to have the IQ to read the defense and set up the offense as it is needed.
Now can EJ do all that? Sure he can. He can do it all very well, but you aren't taking full advantage of his skills. I would also rather worry about him filling the lane on the fast break and either spotting up or getting to the rim, not pushing the ball and having to judge should he pass off or take it himself. I'd rather him not have to handle the ball every single possession, there are much better ways to expend his energy. I'd also say while his handles, vision, and passing are excellent, they are a little overrated on this board. I'd also rather have him finding his spots on the floor rather than worrying about setting up for others or running half court sets. I'd also rather Gordon guarding 2's, instead of 1's. The thing about Rose and Gordon, you could play Gordon at PG full time, but he will never average 8 assists per night like Rose has the last two years.
Beal is an excellent ball handler and could do every single thing that you said that Gordon could do. Would be a small back-court but it could work. Some Hornets fans. They think Gordon could play the point full time so if we can't get Davis the next guy we should look at is Beal. Hornet fans are far from the brightest of the bunch.
Here's my response to him:
Sure it could work, I think I stated several times that Gordon could do what a PG does, but it wouldn't be ideal or play to the best of either of their abilities.Beal is an excellent ball handler and could do every single thing that you said that Gordon could do. Would be a small back-court but it could work.
