There's been a few former players come out and say this happened in their locker rooms, difference is the Saints got caught.

I did read earlier that Jeff Fisher and Gregg Williams participated in this during their time in Tennessee. Curious how that could effect St. Louis?

This is VERY ugly for the Saints, and it sucks. But I'm afraid it will only get uglier for the league.

I'd take one of these things happening to the Jets if we could get that Superbowl ring that you guys got in 09

Honestly I buy everything I'm hearing, I believe every last word of it.

But the thing that does kind of make me wonder, the numbers. The numbers just seem off. In a league that shells out $50,000+ fines to numerous players a week for illegal hits, a player is going to risk that plus suspension over $1000-$1500? The numbers just aren't there.

Terrell Suggs' suggestion that the Baltimore Ravens had a "bounty" on Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward and running back Rashard Mendenhall has gotten the attention of the NFL.

During the "2 Live Stews" syndicated radio show on Oct. 17, when he was asked, "Did you all put a bounty out on that young man [Mendenhall]," Suggs replied, "Definitely. The bounty was out on him and the bounty was out on [Ward] -- we just didn't get him between the whistles."
Billick says there is a defensive mentality to go after players and knock them out of the game. Billick says every team does things like bounties in their locker room. They just should never talk about it publicly. Billick thought that's where the mistake was.
That was way back in 08, but did anything ever come of that?

If the Saints end up losing a 1st round pick, would the Patriots lose this years, or would they lose a 2013 1st?

The former would be hilarious.

2013 first probably.

A few current and former players commenting on how the NFL has always had bounties, the fans just didn't know about it until now. This is just the tip of the iceberg it seems.

Some people are saying they should take away the Saints franchise tag.

I read something earlier that it would actually be illegal to take away the franchise tag. Don't know how, or why, or if that's even true lol

But man to be honest, after the stuff I've heard from current and former players admitting to the bounties being put on players for a long time, the NFL needs to really tread carefully with this. You can't go taking away firsts and seconds and shit from a ton of teams. Everyone does it, the Saints got caught though.

That's what was said about spygate but the Pats were penalized anyway.

I think the NFL is still going to penalize the Saints heavily. I'm just saying, I think this whole thing is just the tip of the iceberg. We're going to hear a lot about other teams doing this sort of thing.

Earl Bennett knocked out in the Saints game, missed significant time.

Gabe Carimi's season ended against the Saints.

Cutler had his throat stepped on by a Saints defender.

Good football hit. No flag.

Cabrini was injured on a standard pass block. No flag.

You talking about the play where Cutler threw a hissy fit and shoved Dunbar in the facemask and that started that little scuffle? No flag.

What exactly are you fishing for? Nothing was illegal, just your standard football plays.

I love that when a team gets caught with something that is incorrect or illegal, the fans of that specific team always say "everybody does it." lmao, yea everybody does it...

Everybody does do it... Watch ESPN?
Two or three former NFL players (recently retired) now ESPN employees have said it happened in their locker rooms during their time in the NFL. Honestly I'm kind of surprised they would admit to it.

If everyone was jumping off a cliff, would you do it?
I mean cmon now, saying "everyone does it" doesnt justify anything, and it just shows how bad you are at doing it without getting caught
Finally something bad has happened to the Saints. DONT RUIN IT FOR ME
:p

Nobody is trying to justify anything. It's just that people need to stop being naive and realize that not just 1 out of 32 teams is doing this. I mean hell, like I already said, former and current players have admitted to this happening in their locker rooms and we already know of a few head coaches (Billick and Fisher) who knew this was taking place.
