not really lol. the team will be decent but they still arent a playoff team, yet.

Ok, but like I said, we will be better when we're healthy. We're clearly out of the playoff race already even if we stay healthy for the rest of the season.

People act like this is some completely incompetent team when in reality we've got some nice pieces that could make us competitive in games this season if they ever all get on the court and build some chemistry.

Come on pugz. How many teams "contend" for a playoff spot every year? I'd say, 10, MAYBE 11 on some years. There are only 15 teams in the conference, so if the Hornets put a DC like this (bottom) together, your telling me they would be one of those 4 or 5 teams that barely win 35 games?

What is that team missing? A starting PF (Landry has shown to be a 16 and 7 type of starting PF but has admitted that he would rather come off the bench). But you still have guys like Jason Smith and Gustavo Ayon who are real good off the bench type bigs who will come in and provide energy and rebound the basketball. You got your defensive players in Ariza (one of the better perimeter defenders in the league), Aminu, and Okafor who also has shown improvement on the block this year. How many teams bring a guy like Chris Kaman off the bench? Not many, if any.

Jarrett Jack has started in the NBA before and while I would say he could play better, it's hard to ignore the fact that he's averaging 16 points and 7 assists per game this year. Then of course you have Eric Gordon, who is a 22 PPG scorer per night and is a good defender. Lots of people believe he will be the leagues best SG in the future. And you have Marco coming off the bench who started on a playoff team.

Again, I'm not saying that is undoubtedly a playoff team, but that is undoubtedly a team that could be in that 9-11 range and contend for a playoff spot.

Perry Jones is definitely not the 6th best player in this draft. I'd take a ton of players over him before I thought about rolling the dice on him.

I think his list is a little outdated, but yeah. The Hornets have two picks and I honestly wouldn't take him with our second pick, he scares the crap out of me.

I'd put him behind Terrence Ross on that list. I think Quincy is going to be a really good pro too.

I really like Scott Machado. Think he has everything a PG needs, Hornets have three guys at his game today including GM Dell Demps. Hopefully we can get him.

I watched Sullinger closely today. Here's what I came away with, remember this is just what I saw today:

He's a bull. Very physical inside on both ends. Especially on defense though, always moving and pushing his man out of the post (or trying atleast). He gets low in rebounding position, especially when boxing out. Really good form. He has a good wingspan for his size (7'1). He does a good job fighting for rebound position and battles for boards. Has good range on his shot, went 2/2 from behind the arc in the first 3 minutes of the game, and also hit a mid range shot. He is shooting 41% behind the arc this year compared to just 25% last year. Was doubled in the post a number of times and showed good composure and passing skills out of the double. One particular time he posting up and got doubled at the short corner, and was able to find a teammate behind the left side of the arc wide open. Good vision out of the post.

When he wasn't in the post he was around the top of the key screening then popping the ball. Poor screens really stood out, for a guy so strong and physical I thought this would have been a better part of his game, but it wasn't. Rarely made contact and left before the ball got there a few times. When he was in the low post, he really didn't try to get position a number of times. Was called for traveling in the low post a few times, uses the step through move more than he should. Didn't show enough variety in the low post. You could tell he was a little frustrated throwing up a few bad looks while he had trouble getting looks over the 7'0 foot Sacre. His energy could be a lot better, was ineffective running the floor and his rotations were very bad. Stockton was able to get into the lane and dish out because of this. Hedged on ball screens a number of times, and that will be a problem in the NBA. Just not quick enough, the Zag's bigs had a number of open looks after rolling but their guards never found them. Not a threat to block shots or alter shots.
