Let's be real though, TWolves don't become a contender with Pau, and Pau is going to decline soon. They might as well keep Derrick.

Western Conference is wide open Rip

OKC is obviously the favorite, but they're not a lock.

they have an older coach on probably his last team
Love signed for a few more years

Pau only has 2 more years left on his contract. he's not declining at all yet. the 2 years left on his deal should have him age just fine (diminished role in LA with Bynum is the reason his points are down and FG% is down. he's hardly in the post anymore. other stats are fine)

DWill has no spot with Love and Beasley at 3/4

It makes plenty of sense for them

I realize the West is wide open. But the addition of Gasol to that team doesn't make them a contender to me. They need to have their youth grow together and they need a 2. They do need a center as well, but I don't think Pau fits that mold of what they need. They need a banger down there and a real good defender.

They are better off keeping Williams for now. Plus the kid has great upside. You don't just dump him for Gasol for a couple years, regardless of the logjam they have.

You're not "dumping" him. You're trading him for the most skilled big man in the NBA.

Love and Pau at PF and C would be incredibly difficult to match up against.

I realize that. But Williams could be a great player in this league. And I don't see the TWolves getting that much better with the addition of an aging Pau.
If Pau was a couple years younger, sure. But he's 31 now, and the rest of that team is young. They need to just let them grow together.

I'm not worried about right now. I was talking that in the future, he'll be a very solid player.
When you're competing for a championship you do worry about now. and even in the future, he has no real position, he has to work on his body to get his right spot.

his game doesn't decline as quickly as other big men because his skill set is much different. the wolves would be much better, pau also helps beasley out since they can work it inside out.. they also don't have their pick so a playoff spot no matter where doesn't hurt them as much as missing with no picks.

How often do Arizona Wildcats turn out? I swear, man. Houston has two of them, and while Bud can light it up any any given night, he's never been consistent. And Jordan Hill has one good game in about ten...

Championships??? Neither of these teams will be any closer to a championship if they do this deal. But Derrick Williams can start over Ron Artest in like a week.

Yes, championship. The Lakers are still up there. You can't count them out until they are out. I'm not saying they will win. and you proved my point about dwill...he can start over Ron but he's not a three.
