From what I'm hearing now, is that the Patriots told Underwood at the beginning of the week that he was going to be cut. They didnt want to do it too early, in case the Giants went up and signed him for intel. It is too late now to sign him.

So the decision came on like Monday, but it was made known by the media last night. Maybe thats why he was so calm on Twitter

If this happened to me, I can guarantee you I'd be on the phone with Perry Fewell telling him what we did in practice that week.

Yeah, he's going to be calm about it because they're cutting him a week before instead of the day before.

That's even worse, cut him and don't let him get a chance at revenge and that makes him happier?

This is such a slippery, asshole move by Belichick too. I mean, is anyone really surprised at this? It was only a matter of time until he pulled something like this too.

Bill's haters (both rationally and irrationally) add another sentence to his life of crime while Underwood takes the high road and gives nothing but praise to the organization

Score one for irony

Underwood can't afford to blow up at a team that cut him or he's not gonna get a job anywhere else. He's not good enough to go off publicly and still find work.

I just lol at how people hate the Pats just because they are good.
This isn't a big deal, and Giantmetfan, you'd tell him because you're a Giants fan lololol
You don't think Underwood has really close friends on the team? Would you really do that to your friends to get back at the team? Take a huge opportunity away from them? Nice guy.

I don't have a problem with this, but what exactly is the point of cutting him?

I'm kind of the same way.

Do I think it's dumb to cut him the night before the Super Bowl? Yes, if they were going to do it they should have done it early in the week. But still, it's a business...

Who knows, maybe this move will be miraculous for the Pats tonight (lol).

I tihnk someone was saying they did tell him at the beginning of the week, but still let him have the SB week experience.

Well I mean, unless the Pats are just completely heartless, he will probably still be on the sidelines and all.

bro if it was the other way around, I'd still do the same. Biggest stage in the game and you got cut 24 hours before it. Regardless of who your friends are, you take out some fucking revenge.

has nothing to do with the "experience". THey didn't want the Giants to pick him to their practice squad to get information.
