LeBron James was asked on Wednesday if he's considering entering the 2012 Slam Dunk contest.

“I have thought about it before and a few times in the past I kind of had an ankle injury that kind of kept me out of it and a couple of times I was just like, ‘You know what, I’m going to go in here and rest my legs for this weekend and then get back to the regular season,” James said. “But, I mean, they say a lot of the greats have done it and I’ve watched it over the years.”

James promised to participate three years ago but eventually backed out.

“I don’t know, I’ll be on the fence every year about it,” James said. “It’s always a fence year for me. I know they’re getting tired of me, though, so I’m not even going to start up nothing.”

He's considered it basically every year since he's joined the league lol.

LeBron is a power dunker, don't think he'd win the contest.

And no, he's not considering.

He won't do it. Lot of people say he is super insecure and he would be embarrassed if he lost the contest. Least thats what I've read lol

Him and Wade should both do it.

I'd rather have Wade rest though, all these ticky-tack injuries are starting to pile up a bit.

I wish they'd just actually ask the best dunkers in the league lol.

Wouldn't be any worst than Blake, who won the contest.
blake wasnt bad last year. what they need to do is get rid of all the gimmicks.

2 main things they gotta do to improve it.

1. No props. Goes from being fun to a repetitive joke.
2. 3 attempts or go home. No more of this timed crap. There is always 1 guy tries these nearly-impossible dunks that he barely practiced, and fails like 6 attempts before settling for an easy dunk at the end of his time. It kills the momentum.

But Blake is the much better show dunker, much better.
