Coach Mike D'Antoni said he no longer considers Iman Shumpert a candidate to start at point guard.
Toney Douglas has started the last two games at the point. "[Shumpert] is learning the league. We're learning where to play him. The 1 spot is not a natural one. It's too much," D'Antoni said. Without a role at the point, Baron Davis (back) a week or two away and Carmelo Anthony (wrist, ankle) nearing a return, Shumpert's arrow is pointing down. He hasn't topped 28 minutes in any of the last four games. Jan. 31 - 2:00 pm et

Not surprised but a bit worried because I guess that means Douglas is getting more time at PG until Davis is ready -- which D'Antoni keeps pushing off and giving no legit answer as to why. If he tweaked something, fine, tell us. But this "NBA Pop" shit isn't the answer I want.

The Knicks really don't have a legitimate NBA PG on their roster. I know people expect Baron to come in and contribute, but even when he was a Hornet (that seems like forever ago doesn't it?) he's never seemed like a PG that is going to consistently get you into your offense and get your offensive players the ball in good positions.

He's not going to solve all our problems, Knicks fans understand that. And we know the team is going to go after Felton & Nash this summer. But for now, he's a MAJOR upgrade over Toney Douglas & Shump.

Shumpert is still a MUCH better option then Douglas.

too inexperienced though, and he's a shooter. When you look at the Knicks, basically their backup SF is Bill Walker, and their backup SG is.... yeah. So he'll still get time, but not as a PG.

A shooter who can't shoot, interesting play style.
