According to a league source, the Sixers have inquired about Amar’e Stoudemire, though it was categorized as “due diligence.”

Nothing is said to be imminent or even in the early stages other than just talk, the source said.

Nevertheless, in past seasons the Sixers were reportedly discussing trade scenarios with the Phoenix Suns in order to acquire Stoudemire.
Interesting.. Wonder what the Sixers would offer?
Though I say there is no chance anything happens lol.

This is what teams do. They call and inquire about players. They do this all the time, it's nothing new.

If the Knicks were the ones who called the 6ers, that'd be a different story. But this is just the 76ers GM doing what he's supposed to do.

The only reason this is being talked about is because the fresh amare/dwight rumor.

Yea, pretty much. And the Amare & Chandler for Dwight rumor isn't even possible (at the moment) because Chandler can't be traded until some time in March.

I know its early, but damn this Knicks team needs to get it together quickly. Melo, Amare, and Tyson were supposed to be a great a frontcourt. But they just dont have the same flow offensively. I would do that Amare and Tyson for Dwight trade in a heartbeat, but I dont think its going to happen.

As for this, I dont see who the Sixers would trade for Amare. But I would love to have Jrue on the Knicks.

Trading Amar'e and Chandler wouldn't solve our "flow" problems. Thats on the PG.

Douglas & Shumpert cannot, CANNOT run the point. They have no idea how to run a pick & roll and without that, it takes away a major weapon for Amar'e on the offensive end.

the pick & roll/pick & pop is pretty much the only way to make amare the threat he needs to be.

Well he can play other areas very well. But when he doesn't have that pick & roll game it's easier for defenders to guard him because they don't even have to look for the pick & roll.

That or the iso at the high post area, which obviously has it's flaws.

Trade Melo and Chandler for Dwight, keep STAT, and then wait for B-Diddy to come back and let him just feed Amar'e and Dwight in the post for easy buckets all day.

The Sixers could probably get a deal together if the Knicks are serious about trading Amare. They have more then enough talent in the back court to ship some off.

You would likely be taking Hedo back.

Orlando couldn't take back both Melo and Chandler and not give up something else with Dwight.

I know this has been said many times, but Melo and Amare are just too similar of players.
