A report from ESPN's Stephen A. Smith indicates the Magic have inquired about a trade of Dwight Howard to the Knicks for Amar'e Stoudemire and Tyson Chandler.

Howard has been linked in trade rumors to the Nets, Lakers and Mavericks.
That would be quite interesting.

i really think amare would like that, too. and tyson could start having a better season with jameer. that really helps orlando out a lot. new york would still struggle and need a point, though.

wouldn't have a PG, would have Josh Harrelson at PF which would kill us because all he does is shoot 3s.

Baron is expected to be ready to play by Friday or Tuesday. He's not nearly the guy he was a few years ago but compared to what we have now, his presence on the court will drastically improve the offense, and I think it's going to help Amar'e a lot as well.

Stephen A is just blowing shit out of his asshole right now.

well melo and amare dont mesh well. they play the same game. those two wont ever fit well together. having a real point guard would help though. the knicks were so much better off before melo. lol

Knicks had a 7-game win streak right near the end of the season. beat teams like Magic, 76ers, Pacers. When they have a decent PG, they can make it work. And during that streak late in the season, they were putting up a TON of points. 115.7 ppg in that streak.

Get these guys a decent PG, and it can work. And their defense has improved a lot, which was their biggest problem last year. Now it's the offense, and coincidentally they don't have a good PG at the moment.

It's simply just Knicks fans overreacting early on. In fact, if Davis is back on Friday, the clock starts to officially tick for D'Antoni. Because right now, the Media in NY is occupied with the Giants. So in about 3 weeks, the Super Bowl hype and talk will end, and if this team hasn't turned it around suddenly the media will crash all over D'Antoni. And now he'll have his PG, and about 2 weeks to get it going. No more excuses once Baron is on the court.

i really dont know why people love D'Antoni. when he has a good team the game is fun to watch. but the teams have to be really good, otherwise hes not a good coach.

And one thing that has killed me this year, is the lack of a fast break. Get a solid PG in there and our Fast Break game will improve a lot as well. Amar'e also thrived last season on Pick and Roll. Davis on the court will help that a lot because Toney Douglas is absolutely incapable of executing a pick and roll.

They lvoe him because of his high-tempo offense, and now that we have Woodson as an Ast. Coach, the defense has improved a lot. Just gotta get the right pieces together and D'Antoni's offense is outstanding.

But I'm not in favor of firing him in mid-season. Because there's really no one else out there to hire.

I'd do this trade. For both parties. Amar'e gives you scoring, Chandler gives you defense and rebounding. While New York gets the most dominant big man in the league.

Still need a PG on the Knicks though. But BDiddy should help.

I'd rather have Woodson & D'Antoni than just one.

And Knicks really wanna get Nash next year. Having D'Antoni will only help us if other teams offer Nash more than us.

i just dont like the knicks as a team for the long run. they tried too hard to make a "mega team" and failed, really.

Well Amar'e and Melo are good pieces, but they really need a PG. If Melo and Amar'e were serious, they should take pay cuts and try to land Deron. But they can't afford him.

Blame that on the ownership. Walsh had a plan but got stepped over by Ownership and now it's all falling apart.

Yep, but that's basically James Dolan being James Dolan.

If that dude had ANY balls, he'd be in a front-row seat next Tuesday to watch his creation.

In fact, Knicks had a similar struggle early last season and eventually figured it out, in time for all these guys to look a lot better than they really were and get traded to Denver.

Instead of playing to their own strengths, they were playing what they "like" to do but weren't very good at. Someone told me it's like in Major League 2 where Willie Mays Hayes tries to be a power hitter. He likes to swing for the fences but it's counterproductive. Once these guys figure out they can't do everything they "want" to do, the offensive production will improve a lot.

Amar'e's better in the post, and his whole career has backed down defenders a lot more than he has this year. This year he's been settling for shots at the elbow, and has been missing. He likes that shot, but it's not his strength and he needs to remember that if he wants to play like he did last season.
