The Knicks are reportedly interested in acquiring J.R. Smith if he's cleared to leave China this season.
Smith is locked into his Chinese team until March as of now, but if he can wiggle his way out of the deal, the Knicks appear to be interested in adding him. He would see a lot of minutes for the Knicks, who are thin in the backcourt, but for now, this is not enough information for fantasy owners to get excited.
JR is exactly the type of player the Knicks need!

ugh...

- Are you maybe a 3-pt shooter?
- Do you occasionally post up a defender?
- Can you score?
- Do you like to move the ball around?
- Do you like to play off the bench?
- Do you want a ring and think D'Antoni's "style" can get you one?
- Are you willing to make close to no $$ and get 0 credit from the Media when the team wins?
- Do you want your own "Coming Home" montage?

If so, the Knicks want you!

we do have one but D'Antoni never plays him.

I think his name is Novak but I've heard fans refer to him as The IT Guy.

Yeah, we do but he isnt good enough to warrant enough play time, and we need a guard that can shoot I think he's more of a SF/PF

Shumpert, JR Smith, Amare and Melo will literally break out into fights on the court over shots.

Since when does speaking the truth make you a hater?

I don't know if you've ever seen JR play, but a player like him is the LAST thing the Knicks need.

Every post you make about the Knicks are negative, we get it, we're not building our team the traditional way, we dont play D.... now please get over it lol

And I have seen him play and would still gladly take him on our team.

So your ok with mediocrity? That's sad.

Because until the Knicks actually get some guys that can play D and wouldn't take 40 shots a game if given the opportunity that's all the Knicks will ever be, mediocre. First round playoff exit after first round playoff exit, if y'all even get there.

We need a legit PG who will primarily distribute, like Steve Nash!

I like the JR move as long as he is coming off the bench to give an offensive spark.

Hey I'm just saying. Why would you be happy with a mediocre team? Eventually it's going to get old. I just don't get it, help me out here. The Saints have been one of the worst franchises in the NFL for a long time, and I'm not happy with them just making the playoffs two years in a row and not getting to the Super Bowl or NFCCG.

If Tony Allen was available, and so was JR, would you want JR just because he's going to score points (and also give up alot of points) and he'll have the occasional sportscenter highlight? When everyone knows a guy like Tony Allen would be SO much better on your team. Obviously Allen isn't available but it's just an example.

You can only have so many chuckers on one team before they all get unhappy because they aren't getting enough shots. Hell, that's happening with the Knicks right now. Guys feel like they have to shoot the ball when they get it because they don't know when they may see it again.

realy though, JR isnt what this knicks team needs right now but if they get a point that can dish the ball then JR wouldnt be a bad option. but as of now they do not need another 1D player.

I do not want JR Smith unless there's a rule where we can play with 2 balls. Hell, we probably already need 2 or 3 out there with this fucking awful team.
