Deron: "Our offense sucks"

NEWARK, N.J. -- After Saturday night’s 101-90 loss to the Heat, Nets point guard Deron Williams came out and stated the obvious.

“Our offense sucks,” Williams said after the Nets shot 33.7 percent, turned the ball over 21 times and allowed 34 fastbreak points. “We’re not very good right now. We’e not shooting well and we turn the ball over.”

Through their first nine games of the season, the Nets (2-7) currently rank dead last in field goal percentage (38.7) and tied for last in points per game (84.9). They’ve shot over 40 percent twice and scored 90 or more points four times.

I think they'll start to figure it out soon. Actually a bit surprised they've struggled this bad to start the season.

I haven't seen any of their games this season so I can't say whether it's the players or coaching or w/e.

When the best offensive player on your team is a rookie who went at 25 in the draft, the offense will suck. Granted, said rookie is looking like the early steal of the draft, it's still not a good situation.

Not to mention the two month loss of a center who averaged 20 PPG last year, playing the franchise PG at the two while starting a D-League talent at PG, having only one team practice so far, and a bunch of stop-gap guys who are on short-term deals until Dwight is/isn't moved.

The offense will continue to be bad until Lopez comes back, or MarShon is finally allowed to start alongside D-Will (who simply can't be a #1 option).

Doesn't help that Deron can't make a shot this year. A lot of the offense sucking is his own fault with the turnovers and just missing shots.
