Cause you are saying Ponder is garbage while you were just sticking up for Sanchez a month or two ago, that just doesn't make sense. You were making excuses for his poor play, I'm pretty sure we can come up with a lot more reasons of why Ponder struggled, he had a lot of issues around him. Got to at least give Ponder a chance, he didn't have much of a chance to prove much this year. For whatever reason I liked him coming out of Florida State and I still think he'll do well, time will tell I suppose.
Mark Sanchez has a lot more potential than Ponder. Whether he ever reaches it is certainly up in the air but in terms of QB prospects Ponder has never been on Sanchez's level.

I'm fairly positive that you're not going to come up for more reasons as to why Ponder struggled than why Sanchez struggled after all the stuff that came out about the Jets locker room situation and his top wideout not putting forth pretty much any effort.

Ponder was on a team that won three games, that alone shows you who had more support. You continually make up excuses for Sanchez, you are about the only Jets fan that I see that finds a way to stick up for the guy. I can tell you right now that Santonio giving up on the team had nothing to do with how Sanchez under performed all season, from start to finish. Sanchez still had a little better offensive line with more options to throw to with a more established coaching staff. So now Holmes is the scapegoat for Sanchez? I've heard it all. But I'm done talking about Sanchez in this thread. All I'm saying is, don't count out Ponder just yet. Give the guy a chance.

His best WR not even trying had nothing to do with how Sanchez played? Are you listening to yourself right now?

So he wasn't trying from Week 1? Sanchez didn't have just one..two...three...four bad games. You obviously didn't read what I said, there's no way he's the reason why he under performed from WEEK ONE.

Santonio was mailing it in all season...

He got paid, he didn't give a shit.

How, exactly, is Sanchez any better than Ponder? I don't particularly care if the Jets didn't have a running game this year. Sanchez had receivers. Offensive weapons. If he's a good quarterback, he should be able to make up for an offensive shortcoming in the running game.

But he isn't. Also, stop kidding yourself. QBs just don't all of a sudden get better after 3 years of quarterback play varying between fairly good and moderately atrocious.

When did I say he was a better QB? (Although he is)

I said he was a better QB prospect, as in he has more potential.

Sanchez didn't have receivers. His best WR didn't try, his second best WR didn't do anything when he wasn't in the red zone, and his third best WR was Jeremy Kerley...He had a good TE, that's about it.

Whereas Ponder had AP and two good TE's.

I thought Ponder showed a great deal of promise considering what he had to work with(awful oline, No WRs besides Harvin). He led the league in red-zone efficiency this season. If the LT position is addressed in the offseason (Matt Kalil, Free Agent) and Charlie Johnson moved over to guard he should have time to throw in 2012. As long as he has time he should be successful.
