DETROIT -- Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh is known for giving opposing defense's headaches, but has been recognized for more important contributions.

Suh was named the sixth most charitable celebrity in 2011 by The Giving Back Fund, a nonprofit organization that provides philanthropic management and consulting to the sports and entertainment industries.

The organization recently released its fifth annual Giving Back 30, a list of the 30 celebrities who made the largest donations to charity in 2010 according to public records.

According to The Giving Back Fund, Suh donated $2.6 million to various charities in 2010.

$2 million to the Nebraska University athletic department and another $600,000 to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Engineering to endow a scholarship. It is the largest single gift ever from a former football player.
Suh's contributions were more than any professional athlete in 2010. He gave slightly more than baseball player Lance Berkman and his wife Cara ($2,412,245).

Actress Jami Gertz and husband Antony Ressler were number one on the list with $10,569,002 in donations.

No one has a problem with him off the field.. They have a problem with him being dirty on the field, and acting like he isn't.
