The Reds have acquired Mat Latos from the Padres, tweets Ken Rosenthal, and Yonder Alonso is among the players headed to the Padres in exchange.

RIP to Alonso's chance of hitting 30 homers.

Didn't think the Padres were planning to trade Latos

Bad deal for the Reds. Alonso and Grandal in a deal for a guy who is only an ace in San Diego?

I like Latos but the Padres got a lot of value here.

They have to be trading Rizzo now.. Alonso can't play LF in San Diego.

They sure gave up a lot, but they could use some good pitching, Latos will be that guy.

What are they gonna do with Rizzo or Blanks. They already have Rizzo at 1B and Yonder's not a very good defender in LF. Volquez sucked balls last year as well. Grandal could be a real good cathcer though.

Reds are making that push for the division and I dont blame them. They have a very good shot at it with the Cardinals losing Pujols and the Brewers losing Fielder and Braun is going to be out for a while. The Reds can really make a push for that division now.

Latos, Cueto, and Chapman. Thats a very nice young rotation to build around.
