The Knicks are nearing completion on a deal with Tyson Chandler worth $58 million over four seasons.

After their efforts to trade for Chris Paul stalled, sources say the Knicks intensified their efforts to sign Chandler. In order to sign Chandler, the Knicks will need either amnesty or trade Chauncey Billups.

The Warriors were previously in the market for Chandler, but they are all but out of the running.

With the Knicks likely to part ways with Chauncey Billups due to their pursuit of Tyson Chandler, his representatives are making calls around the NBA to determine his market.

Billups has not yet been amnestied by the Knicks.

Andy Miller told Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports that Billups is 'irrate' about the development.

"He has no intention of being open-minded about any possible situation where a team would claim him off waivers," said Miller.

With the Knicks close to acquiring Tyson Chandler, they may begin exploring trade scenarios for Chris Paul involving Amar'e Stoudemire.

Paul is widely believed to prefer a deal that ends up with him going to the Knicks.

GS has offered more money. But he prefers NY. Gotta love life.

GS has pretty much been told by Tyson's representatives that he'll take a little less for NY and they're backing off and looking at other options.

And Knicks won't do the Amar'e for Chris Paul deal. I just don't see it happening. Knicks fans are in love with Amar'e and would rather have STAT than Paul.

And plus, Paul is probably on his way to Lakers within next 24 hours.

I wonder if they can amnesty him and then resign him for the minimum?

i'd prefer having Chandler who can play D and grab rebounds. Our two biggest needs.

I keep hearing Sessions' name tossed around as being our PG so I'm not too concerned.

Yeah, I heard GS offered $60M for him.

And i'm not crazy about Chauncey. With tight schedule this year, he'll be beat up by January 15th. Rather have younger guys out there. And I lost count at how many times Billups ran down court, stopped and shot a 3pt right away and missed. Drove me nuts.

I'd be concerned with Sessions starting on a playoff team.
