Albert Pujols will sign with the Angels for ten years and $250-260MM, tweets Yahoo's Tim Brown. He'll receive a full no-trade clause. Pujols decided this morning, writes Brown.
- MLBTR

Buster Olney says its done. Pujols is an Angel. Unbelievable...

Gonna be extremely weird to play the Cardinals and not be rooting against Pujols.

Can't say I'm not happy he's out of the NL Central though.

He'll be 41 at the end of this deal correct? Yikes.

Angels Also Sign CJ Wilson

MLBTR - Lefty C.J. Wilson will join Albert Pujols in Los Angeles, as the Angels continue a surprising free agent spending spree. The Halos completed a deal with Wilson today, an executive who spoke to the team told Joel Sherman of the New York Post.

This is a pretty big deal. An era of Cardinals baseball ended today, they proved me wrong when they reached the playoffs without Wainwright and all the injuries they had during the season. But with Larussa leaving and now Pujols, this was the heart and soul of that team.

Here's the problem with the Angels, they already have Mark Trumbo and Kendry Morales is returning from an injury as well. I said before that the Angels would go after him, since they wanted to spend money last year and they couldnt. He's going to be 41 when his contract ends, but he is a different case on his own. This is arguably one of the 10 greatest players of all time when it is all over. So I think Pujols will understand the journey that he will be taking moving forward and he will be focused to be healthy and prepared for those remaining years.

They also got CJ, with those 2 big signings I think the Angels are going to be extremely competitive.

I get the feeling they'll shop Morales and Trumbo around, and if one gets traded its Trumbo. His value is higher than Morales' is since he spent last year injured.

I've also heard they might hang onto Trumbo as a DH and non-tender Morales next week.

And I also just read that the Marlins supposedly OUTBID the Angels' offer:

The Miami #Marlins actually outbid the #Angels for Pujols, offering 10-year, $275 million deal, sources confirm. Story to come.

Probably the only reason why the Marlins didnt get him was that they didn't offer a no-trade clause imo

Damn did not think the Angels would be where he'd end up landing. Good luck with that contract though.

I find it hysterical that the Marlins offered more on both guys, and didn't get either.
